Post December 13th GPSR experiences

A thread to comment and try to understand post December 13th deadline

Will kick off with my first, 'can I send to NI please', and as a business seller I cant supply the documentation, so I cant

However a fellow business seller can,

Because I switched of NI in my postage policies its visible but the transaction  will not go through and says 'The seller will not post to this loocation

My fellow business seller has just listed his inventory 'Baby Toy' under 'Homes and Garden' category and is allowed to post to NI (I tried to purchase to a confirmed NI address and it works)

Edit - No sign of any suporting documentation and the manufacturer refuses to supply the information needed.

Thought this would happen! Sellers unable to list baby toys would just put them in the wrong category to get around the restriction!

You can report for wrong category

So far, these are the categories with baby toys listed in them now. Clearly to evade the ban on selling baby toys!

Home Garden>Baby>Toys and Activities>Soft Toys, is the category

Its not a seller issue the system allows it and clearly labels it as a selling category,

As a seller of this category Ive never recalled a baby toy category in Home and Garden but now strangely, recently, there is one, a sceptic would be wondering why

Wanted to keep this as a GPSR thread but thats why all the private sellers are still able to list under the Baby Toy category, guessing they search and its there, if its there, they can list, the system is lettting them do so, some areabusing it, I agree others will not know and if the system allows them?

Back to GPSR, the seller I mention in the OP is a business, no documentation and the system alows NI shipping

The first thing I found was a plastic baby toy listed under "pool lights"

It does not light up and is nothing to do with Pools or Lights

Post December 13th GPSR experiences

Someone posted a day or two ago (on GPSR compliance thread) that they had sent a job lot of vintage tools to NI buyer. They are a business and had not filled in any GPSR info.
Buyer could still see and purchase though and they sent via RM.
Be interesting to know if it arrived OK.

Out of season now but I used to sell garden equipment parts to NI but have turned them off at present. May switch back on if things are getting through?

Its all going to boil down to what the EU does and if it affects ebay ... there are so many sellers listing electrical goods for sale to the EU with a responsible person in England or no responsible person at all ... these are the type of items the policy was made for so if these get through ....

Also many private sellers selling new electrical goods ... i cant see some of the EU customs having the wool pulled over their eyes with that trick ?

Unlimately you can put the item in the wrong ebay catagory but once you post it its all about what EU customs do .... we will see soon and i'll be following this thread with interest
