Payment on Hold Collection, is this right?

Buyer bought and paid for item last week, collected it today, is happy with it and left, I scanned the QR code, put the pin it, collection confirmed,

yet I still have to wait for the 11th for estimated pay-out because the funds are on hold?

doesn't seem right from a sellers perspective... especially since it was collection and code was scanned etc

Yes, I think so.

Seems unfair but them's the new rules.

I know the new rules but the item was bought before the 4th,

also it was collection in person listing, no postage etc involved

You may be better contacting eBay CS on this to find out their reasons.

I mean it could be they just like your money and want to borrow it for a while.

'know the new rules but the item was bought before the 4th,'

sorry... didn't read closely enough!

Was it an expensive sale? Ebay sometimes like to hold on to money from sales that are unusually expensive from that particular seller.

(I don't reckon the 'no postage' will have anything to do with it; your money is in the ebay system no matter how the buyer got hold of the item...)

Re: Payment on Hold Collection, is this right?

it's not good news, funds will still be held, doesn't matter if it's sold via postage or collection only, sellers have 0 protection it seems to me, the agent also told me the buyers can still open a returns claim up to 30 days after the purchase even in a collection style auction, that is quite frankly insane.

Re: Payment on Hold Collection, is this right?

The 30 day thing is probably charge back which eBay can't really stop anyway. The banks, PayPal etc have far more power. It's why this whole BPF is such a load of bleep. I did it for you eBay.

Nobody actually needs it to get their money back should a transaction not go exactly as it should.

So they are charging for nothing and calling it a favour.

CS have given you the right information.   Also the new payment regime came in for payments after the 4th not sales after the 4th.
