I recently sent a parcel by Royal Mail 48 Tracked. It was confirmed "delivered" within a few days, and now the buyer has contacted me asking for a copy of the signature so they can track down their parcel within the business premises. If they cannot locate who took collection of the parcel within the Company, do I have to refund them?

As long as you have tracking proving delivery or attempted delivery to the address provided by eBay then you will be protected and won't have to refund. Delivery is to an address and not a named person so you can't be held responsible for whatever happens to it after it arrives at the destination address.

The copy of signature for a tracked parcel is an old one, they are usualy fully aware that tracked is not signed for unless it is added as an extra but it is used to try it on and hard shoulder you into believing it has not been delivered. except for special circumstances not even couriers ask for signatures the requirement was wavered in 2020 during lockdown and then became the norm.

The only thing I have found though (round here) is that with RM, and Signed For they are now MORE intent on getting an actual signature than ever before, I guess the thinking is that Tracked is now so common if someone chooses Signed For, there is a reason.
But yes, if it's been delivered and tracked to the address they asked, it's mission accomplished.

eBay does have a Signature Confirmation Policy, but that only applies to items above a certain value (£450 I think). So if your item was below that value, you don't have to have a signature. The buyer can ask about it but you don't have to have it. Tracking proving delivery to correct address should be all you need.
If somebody in the office has received the item then something has happened to it, that's not your problem.

Just tell them to open a case and have your tracking number handy.
Once they open the case re enter your tracking
eBay will close the case in your favour
If any else happens come back we will help further

Tracked 48 is not a signed for service - it is scanned upon delivery.
A small parcel using Tracked 48 with signature would be £5.35 - is that the service you used? Otherwise, it would not be signed for so you can point this out to your buyer.
You don't seem to be aware that you are not allowed to sell partly used perfumes. You are leaving yourself wide open to returns because you can only list used perfumes as 'new/other' which Ebay define as 'A new, unused item with absolutely no signs of wear.'
Also, when you send perfumes via Royal Mail they have to be in their original packaging. You should not be posting such items without a box. Hopefully, you are using an ID8000 label when you send perfumes.

Did the delivered message also include a photo of the RM website
you could share with the buyer.

Oh.... I thought Royal Mail wouldn't take perfumes *at all*! thought they put 'em in the same category as full cigarette lighters , batteries etc....?

You can post perfumes in the UK with RM - with restrictions such as number of bottles, volume, have to be in original packaging (i.e. the box) and you have to stick a label, an ID8000, available online or at the Post Office, on the parcel.
I worked at the Post Office for a couple of years - all through lockdown - so know my Post Office/RM stuff a bit.

Its funny how the disconnect between PO and RM grows by the year. Really odd to see our local PO taking in Evri parcels and I think some others too.
That said when I saw the news about job cuts I had no idea there still were any 'Crown Post Offices'. I thought every single one was now part of the local WH Smith etc... Certainly where I live it's been that way for years, in all the big towns round here and ones I've visited.

My postie only requires signature for SD
I haven't ever signed for anything else since 2020 and I get parcels daily

Interesting they seem hotter than ever on Signed For (rarely used, I know; I suspect really , really seasoned eBayers!) round here. Had a Special yesterday, it was a seller thinking they were being helpful as they sent it VERY late. However if I wasn't on my temporary (first time in 15 years) WFH assignment it would have never got here, unlike tracked which they merrily leave in the porch! Item worth £40 so no advantage to seller either. Hey ho.
