hello
I have a parcel to send that cannot be made smaller. it is approx 70cm in length and very heavy.
When i listed there was no option to opt out of simple delivery that i could see. I was force into it.
The max size was 61cm and so i selected that and decided that when my item sold, I could just buy my postal label direct from parcel force or buy a label at the post office.
Now it has sold, i cannot access the postage money, ebay seem to have locked me out and
I am also unable to input the correct size into a postal calculator to see what they will charge me if i dare
use a pre paid label when over the limit.
I think they state that i can send it anyway and they will just charge me more money plus £1 for them to figure it out later on, after i put the parcel into the system , when i am not present and to agree yes or no. . but how much more will they charge?
This is dreadful. Can anyone please advise?
thank you

There is currently an issue that Simple Delivery not offering Custom Postage to oversize items, lightweight items and those under £10, these are all exempt from Simple Delivery.
There is a workaround.
From the link below Go To Solution and follow the advice in Rick's answer to list your item.

If the sold item was listed with buyer pays postage, you don't get the postage money, you get a postage label. Is the label you received for Royal Mail or Evri?

hello
Thank you fror your reply.
Royal Mail, and the max length is stated 61cm.
I have not printed the label just yet, as I am still waiting to see if this is a good idea.
I might need to , to input any tracking.
My parcel is 70cm and can not be made shorter.
There was no option to input the size during the time of listing .
It must have been a few months back before the UI changed.
Thank you for your help

As far as I can see your options are
(I've no idea about the £1 plus fees option as it's "simply" too big for Royal Mail Simple Delivery.)

Thank you for your help, I am sure your answer shall help others also.
for those following and interested.
It turns out my buyer is not even responding, A new user (0)
not responding to email or txt. So likely this issue will be over
tomorrow with a cancel by myself unless I get a message.
Simple delivery is the most stressful waste of time when it goes wrong and then ebay computer headlocks the seller with no stress free and/or easy options, it is quite terrible.
If anyone is reading with parcel size issues. if you cancel and re-list your item and put the cost up to £800
now you should be able to break out of Simple delivery and have "oversized" options and set your own
courier. Then reset the cost back down to what you need and it should stay at "oversized". its a bit fiddly
and it may only work in some categories.
All the best

My workaround works in all categories. Follow it exactly.
