I have just checked and there are a lot of posts about Packlink shipping and wrong information.
I sent a parcel and used the recommended service when I clicked on buy postage.
I bought Evri standard drop off 1-2kg.
The items I sold were two at 500g each then a box and the label. Can't see how it would have been over 2kg.
the box was 25cm x 16cm x 16cm so well within the small parcel size.
Order was delivered about 2 weeks ago but today I have been charged a further £6.12 for a "Courier report" of an parcel being over weight .
I'm not even sure why I sent with Evri as normally I would use RM for small parcels.
With RM if there is any kind of charge for a parcel being under paid or something it the person receiving the parcel they charge to collect. I'm wondering if they charged my buyer as well which might explain why no feedback although the parcel was marked as delivered.
Apparently the information on postage is all wrong and has not been updated. Also the pictures "shoe box" etc do not match the limits of the postal services offered.
I paid the charge but still not pleased about it as I have now made a loss on the sale.

I buy Evri labels via Packlink. I always opt to put in the actual weight/size rather than select one of their vague options.
So far I haven't received an 'overweight' notice, but I do make sure I take a picture of the parcel on the scale, with a tape measure if necessary, so that I can challenge it if they do try it on.

UPDATE - After paying this £6.12 with my debit card on the 17th Ebay have taken a further £6.12 from my Balance after a recent sale !!.
Item sold for £12.00 postage was £2.87.I have now been charged a further £12.24 for postage. Making a total of £15.12 postage on a £12 sale !!.
Been sending with Hermes/Evri for decades and not once have I encountered an issue with postage cost.
Sure parcels going missing, delay etc but never ,no once ,not ever has there been a postage cost issue until now. And no problems with postage costs since 1975 when I started selling mail order and used the GPO (Royal Mail).

Packlink are notorious for doing false over weight charges. These don't happen if you book directly through Evri.

I do this too - glad I'm not the only one! They have tried me 3 times over the last 3 years on weight or size - each time I have provided the photos and they have cancelled the surcharge notice. I reckon those photos have saved me about £30 or so up to now. Incidentally I do select the 1-2kg etc but twice it was on a label I bought directly with Evri and only once with a Paclink Evri label.

You can contest this with Packlink. They do this to us all the time (we send about 100 parcels a week with Packlink). Most of the so-called overweight items are not overweight at all. If you reply to the email refusing to pay the charge and send a picture of the item on a scale showing the weight you should be able to get your money back.

Had this for the third time today, claimed a parcel of 80gm was 3.4Kg. I have sent an appropriate reply !! I now take a photo of EVRI parcel on scales to record weight & bar code, see parcel in question

You need to contact packlink.
This page may help, it has a link to dispute the unknown charges. https://support-ebay.packlink.com/hc/en-gb/articles/6677968211218-Unknown-charges
