One week until I stop selling outside UK

With Ebay's new plan to withhold payment from already-exposed sellers until two days after delivery can be proven, I will no longer sell books to US or European customers.

Sometimes books take 2 to 3 weeks to wend their way through the UK and US postage systems. For Ebay to now arbitrarily demand that I basically send books on account and only get paid after delivery is quite simply outrageous.

Every leading British bookseller states clearly on their websites that they will only send books to customers once cleared funds have been received by them. For Ebay to now tear up that established practise so that THEY can greedily sit on the funds is an affront too far.

As someone who has 100% feedback on circa 1000 sales, I have already proved my reliability.

Yes, I am aware that if I switch to becoming a business seller I can still receive payment in a timely way, but I am a private person who does not want my home address splashed on the Internet. I have a public profile elsewhere as an artist, and the last thing I want is some creepy stalker knowing where I live.

Does anyone know if Ebay has rethought this ridiculous new rule? If not then I will just restrict Ebay sales to the UK and sell direct to US and EU customers outside of Ebay, using PayPal and email.

It's still going ahead, so you may need to do just what works for you in the new circumstances.

Thanks, looks like Ebay aren't listening to sellers!
