New Rule - eBay to hold sellers funds for 14 days

Effective February 2025, ebay will hold private sellers funds for 14 days if the order is posted with an un-tracked delivery service (such as Royal Mail 2nd Class).

I think it's a brilliant idea if they want private sellers to leave the platform in their masses.

Well, at least I think that's what it is. If you can't see it, you can also find it in your balance - go to Selling (app) and click on eBay balance, and it will show you all the transactions, including the clearance date. If you click on the balance from My eBay, it will only show the amount you can withdraw.

I have defo notice the decline of sellers over the 4 weeks since these changes was made

I watch 21 sellers on watch and now only 6 sellers have listings so its having a BIG effect so its having a negative effect

People are just not list anymore , when will Ebay notice this

Same here. from 5-10 a day to 5 per week. And when you get in touch with them, they tell you - promote, reduce the prices, etc. I've noticed in the past that every time they make any changes, the sales are down. But this time is beyond ridiculous. I'm gonna wait couple of more weeks and if things won't change, I'm out

Anything sold under £100 should be instant funds to transfer to bank

you still get your money but unfortunately have to wait for 14 days.    Ones marked delivered are paid in 2 days after delivery.

I would have thought the same thing. I got paid on the Saturdayfrom buyer and dispatched on Sunday, then paid 14 days later on the Saturday.. unless it works out differently over the weekend

What happened was mine wasn’t marked as delivered but the buyer had left positive feedback after 2 days of dispatched, I think this is an unfair way because eBay have now kept my money for an extra 12 days, if the buyer leaves positive feedback I feel the money should be released

They only do that if it is sent untracked and under £10.

Don’t worry that doesn’t stop them they suspended my account, all my listings with no clarity as to why.

wont release funds even those delivered and older than 14 days.

People ARE leaving the platform in masses. It's obscene to be made to wait for money earned on ebay. Why aren't independent platforms stepping in to stop it? Ebay are using another excuse to withhold payment by introducing legislation called buyer protection as a further delay tactic.

I just cannot comprehend why it's legal for ebay to withhold seller's money, or why no independent bodies have stepped in to stop it by now. Sellers are being used as cashcows! Would it be legal for employers to withhold their employees wages? They should be held accountable and made to submit subsequent payment!
