Ebay have the money they will release it once the item arrives and buyer does not raise a complaint.
It basically held in escrow
If no tracking you will have to wait longer because there is no delivery scan so at that point they will assume its arrived unless customer complains.
It much better for the buyer.

Unfortunately thats exactly what happens on Vin Ted. No one likes change, me included.

In a nutshell you don't have to buy or sell on ebay vinted or anywhere else
You either go to proper shop (B&M) or buy online
Vinted introduced it and you don't like it i don't think vinted even twitched.
It what it is if you don't like it shop elsewhere or sell
The way i see it is ,it is ebays site if i want to sell here i abide by their rules.
i do have a website and do quite well there ebay is just a bonus.

I guess it's okay for a buyer to often wait 7 days or longer for delivery after they have paid, at times not having any idea if the item has actually been shipped at all, anyone can mark an item as dispatched with no tracking number but as long as the seller has their money all is good.
You are pretty much saying all buyers are scammers and are not to be trusted.

its happening and the changes won't stop there.

The US dot com users are finding this new concept difficult to understand. They didnt know it was about to be launched.

ebay have progressed a long way from the days when you got an instant Paypal payment following a sale. Now sellers are to expect up to 14 days to receive the funds, when the item has already gone to the buyer.
Beggars belief how this kind of process can be suggested.

That i agree with but its the new rules so we have to live with it, i cant see mass protests happening soon.
So adjust or shut shop.

Its down to principles, morals, integrity -
Im not sure these words exist in the grubby world of ebay these days.

Again cannot disagree but this is ebays site and we are essentially guests.
So we abide by the rules they set (as long as they are legal) or throw they baby out with the bath water, which has been the main reaction on these boards.

"Now sellers are to expect up to 14 days to receive the funds".
Paypal didn't start to offer instant payments to private sellers until around 2006.Before that it was usually 8 working days until you could transfer a payment to your bank and another 3 working days for payment to reach bank.E-cheque's took much longer and sometimes bounced.
Edit :- From the net "PayPal launched instant payments in the UK through the integration with the UK's "Faster Payments" system, which was launched in May 2008"

There is no way in the world that you would sell something, hand it over to a complete stranger and allow them to walk away leaving you hoping for 14 days that payment will arrive through eBay!!!
I think you meant to write 'I' not 'you'.
Also if an item is being collected you use the collection code to get paid quicker.
For posted items everyone waits 14 days if they choose to send untracked.

'Its down to principles, morals, integrity -

.... in the grubby world of big business in general, I'm afraid.
The process of 'ensh***ification' has swallowed the vast majority of online and even offline businesses. ☹️

Give you appear to be a business - why not upgrade?

E-cheque's took much longer and sometimes bounced.
And ebays advice was to wait until the cheque had cleared and funds in YOUR bank before mailing.

but this is ebays site and we are essentially guests.
We pay rather lot of fees to be guests, and have to endure below expectation site performance and reliability. Personally, Set Sale items for me have been taken away from the site years back, to a more reputable site which charges less than half of what ebay inflict, and without the ill thought out severe rules which are arbitrarily imposed .
If only there was a comparable Auction site for competition for ebay then that would be a good measure and see how they react.
The last major competition ebay had was when they stood up against the River.
The River have recently launched space rockets , where by ebay sponsor 'Love Island'.
