As somebody famous once said, “there are lies, damned lies and statistics”. I would lay odds that their computers have worked out numerous configurations in order to entitle them to claim that customers can make 20% savings. But it’s all smoke-and-mirrors as far as I’m concerned because that claim is way too simplistic.

Any bets as to whether the higher-priced rate bands are for the packages that are most commonly sent?

And where is the benefit in having £750 protection if your item is only worth £20. Presumably the cost of providing the protection will have been averaged out over all Simple Delivery items, so you (or the buyer) is paying for something that you don’t need if you only sell items worth a small amount of money.

Nice. You’ve been with ebay for over 8 years, but no “thank you for your custom”, or “we wish you well in the future”, or “we’d be happy to welcome you back if you change your mind”. That’s because as I and others have said, they want rid of us because they want to take the platform high end. They must be rubbing their hands with glee that those of us with low value items have delisted them. I wonder how long it will be before they set a minimum selling price?
