AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

At this point I find everything about eCrap unreasonable

On the offchance (fat chance?) that anyone with any kind of power to change things at ebay still reads this thread, the two things that would make the most difference to me are:
1. Allow anything listed as Buy It Now listed at £20 or less to be sent via custom postage.
2. Set the standard posting time for private sellers to within 5 working days rather than 3.

"private sellers to within 5 working days rather than 3"
Huh?
That aint going to happen, if you sell on ebay you are controlled by ebay.
Wont be long before theres a class suit for sick pay and holiday pay from ebay like what happened with uber in the UK.
Welcome to the dot com gig dream..............

I also find this extremely frustrating.
I have been ignoring the simple delivery option & shipping my items as I did previous using my own choice of courier. However, there is nowhere for me to add the tracking details, so all my orders permanently show 'delivery overdue' even though I have confirmed the were all delivered!
Come on eBay give us back the choice!

You refer to yourself as a reseller. Would you not be a business?

THIS THREAD IS ABOUT NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY
SHOW SOME RESPECT & KEEP IT ON TOPIC
THANK YOU
17-09-2025 7:55 PM
And yet the user they are replying to is selling so the 'no longer selling' part doesn't fit with this thread either. You can't have it all your own way.

If they were though, and was annoyed with simple delivery, there’s advice that can be given to them to get back the choice that they has asked for.
which, is literally what this thread is about.
I’m sure you’d all prefer loopholes to ‘stick it to the man’ of course.

The user clearly states in the first line of his comment about not using Simple Delivery
so it is exactly on topic

SD does not apply to business sellers which was the point raised in the reply.
'We are resellers of IT, office equipment & supplies.'
17-09-2025 8:49 PM
But this thread is also of use to users who are trying to sell still but are having a lot of issues because of SD.
If SD was remotely viable for me I would consider listing a couple of Signed cd's.
It's the posts about should a user be a business seller or re-seller that will get this thread derailed.
SD has caused me to stop selling, so any issues etc because of SD is of interest to users who post here.

I’ll tell you now if any other private seller who states they are a reseller came into this thread complaining about issues with simple delivery, I’ll give them that exact same advice to make their ‘issues with simple delivery go away’

Then maybe the disingenuous 'private' sellers shouldn't comment and derail the subject of the thread. But if they do, then there is a 'simple' answer to their issues.

Some forum members have been vocal about wanting this thread shut down. I have to wonder about whether that is the aim of recent posts.
I also think it is disrespectful to the OP to ignore his request to curtail the obsession with private/business sellers on this thread.
17-09-2025 9:24 PM
I agree and thank you.
The simple thing would be for someone to actually create a thread about private/business/re-sellers etc so then it can be discussed as much as people want to discuss it.
17-09-2025 9:27 PM
Me personally would just post a reply to them saying this thread is primarily for private sellers and issues and experiences with SD.
17-09-2025 9:38 PM
Dont know what you sell them for but you may find selling cds ok now they have raised the limit to £20
17-09-2025 10:19 PM
I only try to get back what the signed cd's cost me.
As they are from my collection I'm not interested in a profit and I only sell them to make space for new ones I want to get.
Luckily I'm in no hurry as most of the ones I buy are from the artists site or from am**on.
I'll try creating a couple of dummy listings but ideally don't want to have to use SD.

Thank you for the info.
I've just lost track of all the constant changes being made to SD

The one thing Simple Delivery truly isn't, is simple !
Daft name coined by someone equally daft
Its not big and its not clever 🙂
