AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

I thought i would try putting a couple of items on of low value and small but the first one went through ok and the second would not allow me to do custom postage, so i binned both! Both handkerchiefs but different catergories and i have spent too much time messing around as it is. Will just not bother at all now. If e bay cannot get their act in order by now then they do not deserve customers.

Good job they weren't responding to you then.

I am almost certain that I have never replied to anything you have said so why you think it was for you is a mystery.
If you look underneath any replies it will say 'in response to' and the user name of the person who you are replying to.

I wonder then, why I was sent your email?₩

Because you have your e mail notifications on to follow this post.

I had a problem with Evri last week too.
According to the Evri tracking my package should have arrived last Thursday within a certain time slot.
It eventually got delivered on Saturday.
The ebay postage notification is rubbish too. Yesterday I got a ebay notification saying the courier has my package. But today according to the Evri site they are expecting my package.
Between them this platform and Evri are a absolute joke and a complete mess.

I was the same as you.
I only sold items from my collection to make room to buy new items.
But those days are gone for me since the enforced Simple Delivery and having to pay excessive postage costs instead of dealing with my choice of courier directly.

I agree with everything you have stated Evri is just a glorified name change from Hermes to get away from its terrible delivery practices of Broken parcels also missing shipments and terrible tracking in my experience they also just leave parcels on your doorstep without even knocking on your door in full view for someone to steal your item I stopped using Evri "cough" Hermes years ago for that reason and would never use their services again Also on point it appears that there are several quizlings that appear once in a while on this posting thread of over 8700 comments that never really have anything nice to say but just smart comments and accusations that a person should be a Business seller and not be a Private seller and I have personally had those people accuse me with those same comments I wonder what makes these people experts or is this just a simple recruitment campaign on their part to get people to change from being a private seller I have sold approx. 26 items in the last 9 months and that does not warrant changing to a business seller account these quizlings have nothing nice to say or offer any positive comments they should troll on someone else's thread

I can only comment as a buyer as I do not sell.
It brasses me off when I must pay a fee unnecessarily - it costs me, the buyer, extra; it costs the seller nothing.
Is it any wonder that there are fewer buyers when there are so many instances where this charge should not need to be applied/paid.
Simple Delivery (SD) is another matter entirely - but SD has only exacerbated the situation.

It's quite easy to identify a business seller as the definition is written in Law as well as in Ebays policies.
'Business sellers are required to follow all government regulations, including registering as a business on eBay, and providing contact information and a return policy.
An eBay seller must register as a business if, for example, they sell items they have bought to resell, they make items in order to sell them, or if they buy items for their business.'
Just because you choose to ignore this and protest, doesn't mean that you can use the excuse that they are trolls.
It also doesn't matter how many of your handmade items you have sold although I really do hope you have copyright permission to use these brand names as you could find yourself in deep water. ( Constructive advice as per the objectives of the boards).

The 'buyer's fee' annoys and puts off buyers for sure, but apparently enables eBay to say 'it's free to sell', even though it's really only free to sell if the seller effectively increases the price by the fee! With a 'seller's fee' as was, the buyer just pays the fee unknowingly and is happy. The total price ought to be the same either way. I know I said this just a few thousand posts ago (sorry), but the buyer makes a total payment and eBay takes a chunk of it; it really doesn't make any difference whether eBay pretends to give that chunk to the seller and immediately take it away again or not.

You don't like what you hear. That doesn't mean what is being told to you is not correct or negative.
You should be on a business account - you just refuse to accept that is the case.

Yes, the seller fee was ‘hidden’ but it wasn’t a seller fee - it was a buyer’s fee.
Private sellers are, and always have been, merely a conduit for any fees to be passed from the buyer to eBay (the situation concerning Business Sellers is different).
So, nothing in that respect has changed - except the fee is no longer hidden.
It’s the situation where that fee (BPF) is applied/charged unnecessarily because of a certain group of sellers.
That’s partly what puts some buyers off buying anything at all - from anyone.
And I've always been an advocate, since I joined in 2004, of the seller's desired price of the item, the postage cost (if applicable) and any fee all being shown separately - upfront, nothing hidden.

This Posting Thread in Fact was created due to problems related to Simple delivery it was not created for a forum to justify if one should be a Business seller or a private seller While you may have a difference of a opinion its has nothing to do with Simple delivery problems

Your problems with simple delivery would go away if you were on the correct account type. Any complaints you have with simple delivery are of your own making. Private Sellers who dislike Simple Delivery have my sympathy.

I did not create or want Simple delivery I did not have a choice so it is not of my making as you so put it And in reality with the way eBay often changes its policies how long do you really think it will be before eBay changes a similar policy to a business seller I would anticipate and give it within 6 months business sellers will be up in arms
