AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

That 'understanding children's development' book might help us understand why people have made some of the recent changes here .

Evri are Crooks, they abandon packages too large to go through letterboxes, take random photos of where they abandoned it & for the buyers they won't offer any assistance .
items get stolen & its grief for both buyer and seller sorting out refunds

EVRI ARE CROOKS, The worst delivery company anywhere EVER
EBAY support them, thick as thieves.
ive had 8 packages stolen off my doorstep , 6 from ebay sellers the last 2 years
every one of them claimed Delivered by Evri.
2 were refunded by Ebay , 4 i got refunded by my BANK against Ebay who would have just claimed back off the seller leaving them without goods or funds.
This is Ebay in 2025

I managed a couple of work arounds but when they closed the last one i just delisted those items still on and have gone to a new site. There is only so much time i was prepared to give to this farce. Sales may not be high but stress and frustration are non existent.

that will probably have been done because they knew that so many people would avoid EVRI like the plague. Much better to hide from some unsuspecting buyer that they were choosing to use the c.ap service.

you mean it is not simple!!!! Maybe we could get E Bay for misrepresentation by using the word 'simple'

Does anyone kno why some private sellers sending smallparcels can stillopt out of Simple Deivery. They
have 'advanced options'on their listings, taking them to a page they can set their own delivery and pricing?
See attached screenshots.

My partner has been listing some really heavy books which would normally be £4.95 with custom delivery but simple delivery has made the postage costs much cheaper for the buyer especially with Evri and he hasn't had any problems ,he has dropped the parcels off at the drop off shop and away they go .all have arrived the other end no problem ,but it isn't so easy at our local PO if the parcel weight /size what the royal mail allow isn't correct on the label the PO staff put a label on to say it is a market place parcel ,but warn that the buyer at the other end might have to pay the extra ,so far that hasn't happened ,but it is worrying . At a PO in shrewsbury a few weeks ago in smith's the lady behind the counter was a bit snotty about the parcel so my partner paid the extra to get the parcel to the buyer without any fuss

Ebays own helpbot is also as much use as a chocolate teapot. Im going to be very wary of buying anything in future unless i know before purchasing exactly what carrier will be involved in delivery .
Any deviations from that & itll be goodbye Ebay altogether

Yes, I think most are finding the 'switch to advanced' link has now disappeared. If you update a current listing which still has Custom postage, or end an item & relist/sell similar, it will be automatically be updated to Simple Delivery.
'You may have heard that we recently introduced Simple Delivery, an easier and more secure delivery solution. As a reminder, from 6 Aug, any eligible live listings that aren’t yet using Simple Delivery will switch to this delivery option. In some cases, you may see a change to the courier you selected when listing your item. If you have a preference between Royal Mail and Evri, you can set your preferred courier in your Postage Preferences.'
So, from August 6th, current listings will be 'taken over' by Simple Delivery, like it or not....👾

So what happens about the letter-sized items under 100g and under £10 which could be posted for 87p and were exempt from 'Simple Delivery'? Is that exemption finished and, for example, some stamps that I am selling for £1.71 plus 20p buyer's surcharge and postage at 87p (total cost to buyer £2.78) will now have to be sent Tracked 48 costing £2.70 meaning the buyer has to pay £4.61? They simply won't pay it.

It might be alright on the night
we don’t know if eBay will leave those exempt listings alone or if they will classify them as “eligible for SD”
next weeks community chat question I guess

I only ever post by Royal Mail and the postage for the cultery would probably be at least £9 😞

Hi,yes i am with you on this . am ending selling due to stupid postage issues
