AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

"im trusting they have the wherewithall to not screw it up"
There is a traditional saying in some cultures: Trust in Allah, but tie your camel.

Hmm, same thing is happening with me, all my recent buyers have ‘selected’ evri.
Having read the latest replies, I will be removing evri and leave RM as the only option.
I would add that the evri delivery driver that delivers to my house has been first class and I have never had a problem in the last 2 1/2 years that she has being doing this round, however, the previous delivery driver was absolutely dreadful and I was glad to see the back of her.

I started the thread the day I got the notification that SD was being launched and would become compulsory.
I knew it wouldn't be for me because my preference has always been to deal with RM directly.
It's now July and lots of private sellers are still having issues with SD and it's now been 3 months since launch.
I stopped selling in early April and won't consider selling again here until sense is seen by this platform.

I really do sympathise with private sellers who are trying to make the best of the complete mess called 'Simple Delivery'.
With that name it should be expected to be simple.
But instead of Simple, sellers are trying to find work arounds just to make this total farce work.
This platform really needs to get it's act together.

It’s dysfunctional at the moment so might take a while
christmas 2026 at the earliest I reckon
The people running it need to go back to basics and start again

Very good.
Mind you even that timescale could end up being wishful thinking at this rate.
Maybe IF the projected platform revenue for the next 6 months is looking a bit dire then there might be some big concessions needed and private sellers might just become popular and needed by the platform again to help encourage buyers too.

It's actually quite concerning that a Multi National platform like this that is so well known and meant to be the best, is actually making itself look like a Start Up company by making so many frequent changes.

Does seem like you are dealing with a bunch of amateurs. They really act as if they don’t know what they are doing. Listening to EBay’s member concerns doesn’t fit in to the equation. Hopefully it will be their loss in the end if private sellers continue to be treated in this way. I really want a satisfactory solution to SD and the BPF debacle but I don’t think there are any people with proper business heads amongst any of them. Talk about play it by ear.

They used to, ages ago coz back then, we had a decent courier and I used them all the time.

They have it the wrong way around
you not chase the bottom line and disregard other thungs
yiu make things great and the bottom line looks after itself
Amazon are masters of it
why can’t eBay have a functioning system customer service and options like them
maybe they don’t want to be making hundreds of billions then 😐
not saying they should be like Amazon as their origins were quite different I think
just in the seamless ness and professionalism

Even a start up company would let buyers view everything on offer 🤣
ebay seems to have shut it all down depending on this that and Tom *bleep* and Harry’s algorithms

That's true.
Nowadays we only see what they want us to see, and we are only told what they want to tell us and we're expected to belive it.
Everything else is about as transparent as a mud pool.

Well that's it from me on ebay for a month at least..made a decent sale yesterday (still with the old method) so i've no need to put up with the simple delivery B.S. for a good few weeks..i've put my stuff on "time away" and am in no rush to come back..would be great if many more private sellers would do the same..ebay need a good rocket up their 4rse.

They still do, but it costs significantly more. A crazy amount more.

If you buy something and pick the click & collect price it is for your parcel to be delivered to a click & collect shop instead of your house. It is delivered by Evri to the shop then I think you get a code and you go the shop to collect it.

I thought I understood the theory of how offers work with BPF, but in practice it seems a bit bemusing. Earlier today I looked at an item which was £5.43. I only looked at it, didn't watch it or wish list it, but I've had an offer. The offer is for £4.36 inc Buyer Protection (I note ebay don't call it a Fee). Is £4.36 the same figure that the seller has actually offered or has ebay fudged it in transit? And suppose I wanted to make a counter offer of £4.00. I assume that would include BPF, but what figure would the seller see - and what sum would the seller receive? If I didn't know about all this kerfuffle over BPF, I would expect the seller to see and receive £4.00 but I can't fathom it out.

What they don’t tell you is eBay is restructuring itself they have sacked many employees this year.
They have also closed down their Israeli development hub. This decision will result in the layoff of over 200 employees. The closure is part of a larger restructuring effort and follows previous rounds of layoffs in the Israeli workforce. eBay is also establishing a new development hub in Bengaluru, India, as part of its strategy to scale operations in the region
