NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

There are no fees as a pvt seller...no listing fees unless you go over your listing limit for a month. No fvf fees.....nothing at all.

This makes this thread even more crazy.  You guys are complaining Ebay dares to take one single little payment off you for postage!!!  You're basically complaining you don't get the freebie listings any more!  Oh you poor things - welcome to reality, where everything costs money.  They run a server, you get advertising, everything's made easier than you trying to stick it on facebook and arrange bank transfers.  Wow......

How did you manage to come up with me not buying or selling for 12 months?!  Hahahahah!!!!

Private sellers stay private sellers because that's what they are! They sell what they've got hanging around their attic etc. They do it in their little bits of spare time. Another problem with the new Ebay is we have to post within 2 days, (or get a defect), not in our own time when it fits in our lives, and before you moan about that as well, Ebay did give us a drop down arrow to choose how many days we could take to post, which buyers knew! We only sell when it fits into our private lives, not as businesses who need to do it for a living.

No, private or business on Ebay is meaningless, it's just a label, and a different set of fees.  Pick one.

Not posting in 2 days makes you utterly useless.  Pretend you're a buyer.  Would you be happy to go into a shop to buy something , and they say "everything's out of stock for a week, leave your number"?  When I buy something I want it now.  I often ignore sellers who stupidly only put 2nd class as an option.

Sir, you are a troll, and I claim my £5.

There is no other possible explanation for someone who wanders into a forum, states he has no idea what's happened the past 6 months, recommends people selling their personal items to start buying and running a business, is utterly ignorant about Simple Delivery, and thinks that if there's 300+ pages of complaints about it, it must be working well, whatever it is.

What a wind-up merchant.  The only way to respond to such a person is to ignore them.  Eventually they'll get tired of trying to bait people and go away.  If you respond to him, for sure he'll come up with a contrarian view and try to get a rise out of you.

Can and shouldn't are different things.

What was your point?  Why do you think someone selling things out of their attic is entitled to zero Ebay costs?  How do you expect the company to run without money?  They're providing you with a service, you pay for it.

What are you even talking about? You have been arguing facts that are completely false!  You argued the shipping fees are the same and they are not and said nothing when multiple people stated that was false. You stated we could just post ourselves which we cant unless we pay double for shipping as multiple people explained to you and you said nothing. You stated to make your account a business account and multiple people stated ebay now wants bank accounts, documents and tin all in the companies name to convert to a business account and you said nothing. You keep coming up with more bizarre statements trying to make this ebay fiasco smell like a bed of roses to sellers but refuse to acknowledge that almost every statement you made has been wrong and you keep going. Its baffling.

I didn't state, I questioned.  I offered multiple times for people to correct it if it had changed.  What part of "I haven't sold anything for 6 months but" didn't you understand?

No idea what tin is - as far as I'm concerned that's a component of solder.

How is it a fiasco for Ebay to charge for the service they provide to you?  You could always try Ebid, it's totally free, but of course there is 1 buyer to every million sellers.

There's none more stupid than those that pay for first class post believing it's quicker than second class post when most of the time there's very little difference. But if you want something now I suggest you go into a shop, and don't buy it through the post.

Actually for private sellers on eBay it's 'free to sell' - eBay have moved the fees onto the buyer under the guise of 'buyer protection', but you wouldn't know that as you've not sold on eBay for the last six months, allegedly.

I don't care where the money for Ebay comes from, I just have the sense to realise they have to take it from somewhere.  You however think things can come free without Ebay taking in money to run their systems.

The whole idea of "trolls" is absurd.  Nobody is going to post just to start an argument, that would be more tedious than watching paint dry.  No, here's what actually happened.  I went to the discussion forum to ask a question about something entirely unrelated to this thread.  And Ebay for some weird reason put the three most recent/popular threads on display.  This one caught my eye.  I just can't resist correcting misinformed people.

I'm surprised there's none of those "are you registered as a business" folk in here trying to report you lot for selling under a private account when you're not meant to.  Of course I don't believe in rules, so I don't care how you sell.

Troll.  Noun.  What a person is called when the other side can't follow the discussion.

Incorrect.  1st class is 1 day 95% of the time.  2nd class is one day about 50% of the time, 2 days 40% of the time, and 3 days 10% of the time.

The price difference is about 50p, and worth paying.  Especially since some sellers are so rubbish they take a few days to get round to sending it!  The "seller usually posts in 5 working days" is simply not acceptable and shouldn't be an option on Ebay.

Some sellers actually charge £10 to go up to 1st class.  They don't get my custom, and usually get a rude message.

Some sellers are selling urgent things like medicine for parrots, and think 2nd class is acceptable.

Clearly I didn't mean "right now", just "as soon as possible".  Sorry for assuming you'd follow the obvious context.  I forgot I was in the special group.

Oh guess what?  Shops cost 3 times the price, never have what you need, are usually shut, and cost you an hour of time driving there and back.  This is the 21st century, the days of shops are long gone.

Please people just ignore - absolutely ignore - him (or her, whoever it is...). It's either a set up or more likely somebody very ignorant of the recent changes and the situation the private sellers are in. This person has not sold or tried to sell on ebay for 6 months  - that says it all.

Just don't reply to his posts anymore.
