AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Exactly, I weighed my parcels, generate postage myself, yes very, very rarely I got it wrong but I took the flack, I messed so therefore it was down to AI thing will make it very hard for people indeed. I note that apparently sellers cannot receive bad feedback in the future, someone comment on that if you can because how they be right, happy to be corrected 😁

Another reason I wont do it, take a 2kg medium parcel to PO they charge your roughly £5.50, why should buyers pay almost double for the privilege of my using SD, who pockets the excess then?

Me too which is because of my top posties (thank you to them both), really decent post offices, which I am happy to travel to because I get great service and because I feel I can rely on RM, Evri is just total xxxx

Well it’s the day! 8am I’ve just listed something for under a tenner but over 100g and it still let me use custom delivery! Hope it’s ok

This is spot on. I’ve been mostly buying but also selling on EBay for nearly 25 years, and I’m now out on selling, and less buying too.

I buy and sell currency/coins/banknotes and like many others in this rather niche market, I use legitimate, discounted postage stamps for all my sales. These are valid, genuine stamps from older collections (if you like Star Wars think ‘it’s an old code but a good one….) 

 Not only does this save me money but buyers appreciate it, especially overseas collectors who receive an envelope with up to 10 commemorative stamps on.

Simple Delivery has killed this for me, and no doubt hit the stamp sales on eBay hard too as

most stamp dealers do the same. Why should I pay £2.70 to post a letter when I have a fantastic post office counter 100 yards from my home, and about £500 worth of stamps at home, ironically many of which came from EBay? 
I’m buying less as previously I’d buy bulk lot of banknotes, pick out some to keep and sell the remainders as another lot. If I can no longer sell, I can no longer buy as much. 

Of course I understand that EBay can set whatever rules it likes for its own site, and wants to move away from private sellers and auctions towards fixed price listings, but out of all the recent rule changes I think this one will cost them.

Not knowing what is going to happen with the "custom" shipping is the worst.

Will AI take over and change it to whatever it feels and send you a wrong label after it sells.

I am just baffled why the custom option is still there.

Logged in today and pleasantly surprised to see none of my suspended listings have been broken yet but I guess they will do it gradually over the next few days like they did with the buyer tax.

I'm celebrating nearly 2 weeks with no ebay transactions which is great when I was doing one a day - their oppressive charges have broken the habit.

However my credit card is not going to be as good as hoped as I have done a few transactions at the other place they are badly copying but they are all very low cost ones mostly with free postage where the whole purchase cost can be less than SD alone here.

I'm also doing the same thing after inheriting my father's stamp collection. 

More importantly I also want to keep supporting my independent local post office. If we lose it the next nearest is best part of a 30 mile round trip. 

We are a small market town with a moderately large elderly population.  The staff are very helpful and provide a good humoured personal service to all.

The QR code was a revelation to me.. At first confusing but then it became a great advantage. 

Now the Simple Postage thing is in place though, it has ruined the experience. The QR code idea is still useful but they have since messed up too much of the rest of the posting section .

Yeah I’ll keep an eye on it over the next few days see what happens, I can cancel the order if I must and put my account on time away and decide what to do. I’m selling my own collection so not losing any money by not selling anyways. It’s got to be worth my while and not a pain to sell or there’s no point continuing.

An interesting statistic- this post has been viewed 110909 times and increasing which is nearly 10 time more than the ebay announcement “updates on simply delivery” at on 11256. Speaks volumes! And now ebay are as silent as a grave on the day Simply Stupid Delivery is supposed to be mandatory. What a cluster ……..
