After over 20 years of selling I am close to hitting the off switch. Ebay seems to have juddered to a halt. Has everyone else abandoned all hope or are there any souls out there who see a pot of gold at the end of this faded rainbow?

It's certainly a grim situation after my 22 years on eBay. I moaned but carried on through countless changes but the 4% Buyers Protection (on top of already adequate protection) is a dreadful policy for sellers, and buyers of course as I'm both. Then came the utterly ridiculous 'Simple' Delivery which I haven't yet had to use but dreading.

It will kill off most small Post Offices so where will sellers go when they're gone??

I'm just hoping against hope that common sense will eventually prevail and eBay will back down on both.

Surely the best way to win customers is to beat the competition, not match them!

Yes, I've not liked many of the changes on eBay over the past few years - many have seemed unnecessary, or 'change for the sake of change'. Personally, I preferred the way eBay looked before all the Classic pages were replaced. Then Seller Hub was introduced, followed by Promoted Listings... and things have never been quite the same since then.

However, there are changes you can grumble about & put up with - and those that you can't. Managed Payments, Buyer Protection Fee, & Simple Delivery have completely changed how eBay works - and sadly, many of us are finding it is not going to be possible to continue under these conditions.

Unfortunately, it is probably the older/original eBayers that are most affected. It is boiling down to 'if you don't like it, you can leave/go elsewhere'. Whilst that is true, for those that have been around for 15+ years, it is sad that it has come to this!

I've used eBay as a seller on and off through the years, last year was a grim time for me so was forced to sell quite a bit- it was great when I got into the flow of it but when they made all the weird changes later in the year like flipping the seller fees onto the buyer it has gone down hill. My projections for sales were much higher than reality after the all changes came into full effect, this Simple Delivery thing has absolutely killed the flow of having items picked up by RM with a printed label ready to go onto it so struggle to have the optimism as now I can only take the item to the Post Office for a QR code print out (which is far from ideal for me).

Looks like you have a set of points for a 74-76 Hillman Avenger. Have a quick search when you can it may help with your listing.
