Hi All
Have been on Ebay for over 20 years. After some selling a few years ago I made my first sale at the end of the December 2025. I got a message to add a bank account to receive payout. I added the same account from which they've been taking money for over 10 years. I received a microdeposit. The bank account got confirmed, spent some money and withdrew a little. Then in January 2026 I began selling coins, and have been making regular sales and regular withdrawals whenever I got some round figures, leaving a little for postage stamps.
Then on 9 March they hit me with this verifcation nonsense saying that " your payments are on hold until update your account details " with a threat that I could face further restrictions. Why do I need to update it?
I tried to do the online verification, but could not get it to work. I opted for microdeposits, but I have not received any.
I know it's only 2 days, but I think this is illegal and it's only a rouse to delay getting sellers their money. I started a chat this morning and opted for an agent call. They said 31 minutes, but nobody called so far. the fact is that I was counting on this money to meet some expenses.
any suggestions
thanks

I'm the first to agree, that some eBay messages need a rethink, rewriting and yes, can sound threatening, there's no need for that.
They are AI written, so with no understanding of any upset feeling they may cause.
Some sellers prefer to use a different bank account for receiving their payouts not the one registered on their general eBay account, hence the need for this verification of a bank account for eBay's Managed Payments, and the need for micro deposits to be sent there to be confirmed.
You need to contact eBay Customer Services if some other form of verification or if more micro deposits need to be sent.
To Contact Customer Services I recommend using the link below for a Call Back option, and call as close to 8 a.m. on weekdays as possible, as there's more chance then, of Dublin answering.

Lines open between 8 a.m. to10 p.m. on weekdays.

Aaah, then that makes sense, a spike in sales can trigger that extra security verification process. It's all protection for your account, to ensure no one else has suddenly hijacked the account.
Good luck with your selling be it here, or elsewhere ! 🤗
