I am regularly srnfing items from uk to Canada. Now I have to wait 1 week plus before receiving payment. What happens if buyer doesn't acknowledge receipt of item? Does the seller now have to chase buyer?

Also, is this delay just a money spinner for ebay?

There are a Gazillion threads on this, but in short you will have to wait 14 days after last delivery date of your item.
