I don't believe that you can appeal, but I'd check that with eBay CS in the morning.
I’ve found that the easiest route to contact eBay Customer Services is via the link below where you can request a call back:

It's possible that the brand owner is a member of eBay's verified Rights Owners programme (VeRO) and requested that it be removed. The message that's generated is one that the item is counterfeit, which may not actually be correct, but its a one size fits all message.
You won't be able to relist it though. What was the brand, out of interest?

Hi - The brand was Guerlain which is odd as I listed a perfume by the same brand last week and that was accepted?

These days my experience with VeRO is that they leave the listing active but hide it from Buyers. They then remind you that you have a hidden listing that needs addressing. You can either end the listing or 'Resolve Policy Violations'. Like @*vyolla* said, sometimes these are unresolvable because the copyright holder does not allow you to sell their items on eBay. Sometimes it is something as simple as removing the company's stock photo or copyrighted description and replacing them with your own work. Sometimes things are counterfeit without you knowing - depending on where you bought it - again it would help to know the brand.

That is odd, I did take a quick look at the VeRO list and neither Guerlain or their parent company LVMH are on it, but I know that Louis Vuitton are part of VeRO but not listed so its still likely to be a brand removal request.

Any idea of how to go about appealing this with Ebay?

Phoned them and after being put on hold several times and eventually speaking to someone it was eventually resolved. Half the issue was not giving enough information re the item condition in that particular field. I altered that part so it read something like "New, unused but without box etc." and then tried to re-list and it worked? I think it is just an automated thing with Ebay? Anyway resolved thanks to you for your help as I find trying to get past the chatbot and actually speaking to someone is like getting an audience with the Pope!! 😉
Again - many thanks Vyolla

Perfumes need to be in their original box which is probably why it was removed.
