Listed an item 3 days ago - which immediately got (a massive) 2 views.

Have just looked at my listings and it's now showing 0 (zero) views.

Same for a couple of other newly listed items.

What is going on with this 5hit-show of a site?

I think ebay's own bots have a quick 'look' when items first get listed (?)  but no real buyers have actually looked at it.

(this is causing a bit of a kerffufle in business seller circles, when it come to the new Promoted Listings rules...)

On the other hand, it could just be because today is Friday.  Strange things happen on Fridays even at the best of times. (Which these times aren't....)

This is from the eBay article about page views/'bot-filtering'... 🤖

How machine or bot traffic is removed from your listings

eBay strives to filter as much bot traffic as possible from page view data, but there’s a chance that a small

amount of bot traffic is included.

Bot filtering is done in two stages:

  • Real-time filtering, where bot traffic is identified and removed from your page view count
  • A secondary filtering process that performs a deeper analysis on a daily basis. This removes bot traffic that may not have been caught by the real-time filtering, so it's possible that your page views may decrease.

Ebay are crazy if they think i'm going to pay to get people to see my items - their "it's free to sell" campaign is a load of garbage.
