I sold an item which was sent via Global shipping program to the buyer. I came to look at the status of the shipment today and the tracking show shows as:
10th Oct 'delivery on shipment failed' and on the 13th Oct "The shipment has not been picked up within the defined time and will be sent back to the sender"
Only giving someone 3 days to pick up an undelivered item before returning to sender seem a really short amount of time, especially as that was over the weekend so people may have gone away.
Does ebay/GSP actual return the item back to me and when does the buyer get a refund? Ive never had this happen before with something ive sold and sent through GSP its always got delivered.

I would very much doubt that it will make it's way back to you. I wouldn't worry about it unless the buyer opens an INR case and if they do, contact CS and state that it is a GSP parcel.

Please don't worry! You've done your bit, and need do nothing further. The Buyer won't be able to open an Item Not Received Case because eBay counts attempted and/or uncollected deliveries as 'delivered'. If the Buyer contacts you refer them to eBay. If eBay contacts you do as advised above and tell them it was GSP.
That said, if by some stretch of the imagination you do receive the item back in the original condition, then please refund the Item Cost (less postage). Are you obliged to? No. But most Sellers would do this as a courtesy.
