Is it still possible to use the basket to consolidate postage on more than 1 item?
Or can we only sell 1 item at a time??

I discovered that any listings using Simple Delivery are combined in the basket, any listing using custom delivery options are not

I've had a look at your items and the add to basket is there so I would say the answer is yes.

Yes the basket is there, but that's not my question. For anyone else:
Is it still possible to use the basket to consolidate postage on more than 1 item

The buyer can add to the basket for consolidation you as the seller cannot

Postage will automatically be combined if your buyer purchases multiple items from you and completes checkout in one transaction. If you're sending multiple items from one order, all items will need to fit in one package which meets the Simple Delivery package limits.
I'm not sure if anyone has seen it working. There was a post from a month or more ago, where the seller said it had happened but the two items then didn't fit within the simple delivery sizes.
I don't think you can control it in any way. If it's too big as above, contact customer services.

Recently purchased 4 items from a Private Seller using SD, paid for all 4 in one lot & postage combined automatically. The only strange thing was that postage was cheaper after I added the 4th item by a few pence.

I've added items to my basket with no change to postage. When you added your items to the basket was the postage discounted straight away, or did you have to "checkout" before the discount was calculated?
I've added items to my basket and the postage just increases per item???

The postage was discounted straight away. I could see what it was & how the total changed as items were added, I had no need to contact seller or do anything. These were auctioned items rather than BIN ones, if that makes a difference at this stage.
I just tried a different Private Seller using SD with BIN items & again postage combined when adding items to the basket.

Mmm... wonder why that doesn't happen with my items??

Could be anything. Particular sellers could be treated differently. Particular buyers could be treated differently. Which way the wind is blowing.
My best guess would be the AI wasn't sure about the combined weigh/size of what was in your basket. Or it could just be because it's Wednesday.

If consolidated postage is possible, it must a fairly new update? That hasn't been possible since SD hit.

In your My eBay under Postage preferences, is the Allow combined payments and postage > Combined payments option turned on?

Were the items listed with SD ('Standard Tracked', rather than a named courier)?
If they weren't then you would need to ask the seller first if they combine, and if so what would postage be for these x items?
Some sellers have an automatic reduction combined postage - you will see this if you click the postage details on the listing.
A buyer bought 4 of my items, all listed with SD, and these combined for them automatically.
