I've had a guitar amp on ebay.co.uk for a few months (auto renewal) and someone has made a low offer. I might accept it if I don't pay any fees on the sale but I can't find a definitive answer as to what I will pay?
Here's what I've found on ebay but everywhere else seems to shout "No fees". Which is correct?
"In addition to the listing fees and optional listing upgrade fees detailed above, the following fees apply to private sellers residing outside the UK.
The final value fee is calculated as 12.8% of the total amount of the sale (which includes the item price, postage, and any applicable taxes),"

That 12.8% fee is way outdated, it's incorrect.
Private sellers have no Final Value Fees to pay when an item sells, but if you add any of the following optional listing upgrades, there are listing fees to pay, which are payable sale or no sale, and charged the second the item sell.
Reserves: 4% of the set reserve ( maximum £150 per item)
Subtitles: £2
Listing in 2 catagories: 35p
Gallery Plus: £2.50 ( free for clothes and shoes)
Listings with duration 1 - 3 days 35p
As a tip, before clicking on the final List Item With Displayed Fees button, glance just above it, it should read £0.00 Listing Fee.
If there is a fee amount listed there, you have selected an upgrade, and if you wish, it gives you time to scroll up and remove the payable upgrade.
Fees for cars are still payable too.

Did you read the bit that says 'private sellers residing outside the UK'?

It's not out of date. It says fees are payable depending on where the member is.

Brilliant. Thanks for the replies. I wasn't confident so thanks for the clarification. It would be good for ebay to have a service where if someone makes an offer then ebay automatically calculates the fees payable and the amount to be transferred if the offer was accepted. Or does that already exist as well?

There wouldn't be any final value fee for a seller if they accept an offer, but if there were they can simply type '12.8% of (offer price)' into Google and it will tell them if they're bad at math.
Once an offer has been accepted by a buyer or seller, the amount is taken if the listing is a Buy It Now.
