Is eBay for private sellers not recommended for items over £750 now?

Hi,

I've been taking a break from selling for a bit and just returned, seems there is a strong hint on the postage insurance that may be this isn't the place for private sellers to sell items over £750 anymore? Too risky perhaps?

I couldn't spot an option with Royal Mail Special Delivery to get the higher insurance cover I needed on site.

If you list an item over 750 £ ebays new simple delivery system which people are being shifted to  compulsorily , but with some exemptions (one being items over 750£) won’t apply to you

custom postage will kick in on listing

you can then chose your own carrier , insurance , set postage price etc

simple delivery’s maximum compensation for loss or damage is 750 so that’s why I guess

I don't think any seller should sell anything on ebay over £750 when the item is covered by the MBG.
