This new simple delivery is horrendous so out of curiosity what happens if you decide to opt for a cheapest postage label that you are prepared to waste but add its costs to total price of item then head over to post office and add your own tracking? Anyone tried it yet?

Buyer or seller are charged for a label which may be refunded after 30 days when not used although I'm not confident on that. Possible issues updating the replacement tracking. Possible extra long wait for payment from the sale.

eBay might think having to apply for a refund for the unused label, & having to add your own tracking will put people off doing this - but if everyone did it, what would become of Simple Delivery? Maybe it would shrivel up & die..? 😄

if a seller offers free postage they can claim back the money for unused simple delivery postage labels within 14 days by going here https://www.ebay.co.uk/claims/simple-delivery/refund/seller
If a seller charges the buyer for postage and decides not to use the simple delivery label and uses their own label then the buyer will be refunded the postage amount after 30 days and the seller will lose out on the postage costs
