Hi,
I have been using Ebay for years and signing in with the text message with a code that I have to put in for varification. However, this morning after putting in my code sent to my mobile phone, it then asked me if I trust this browser? I have only experience this before if I have my VPN on, this morning I did not have my VPN on. I have not changed my browser in a very long time and use the same browser, so I was would like to ask why this asked me if I trust the browser when I have not changed my browser and did not have my VPN on, please? This is very unusual as usually I only ever put the code they send me to my phone.
Also, I always clear my cookies before logging in to ebay, so again this is regular for me before signing in.
Any thoughts please?
Thank you

Sounds like a routine message, I sometimes get this if I log in with my iPad. If it's not appearing each time you log in then I'd just click yes and not worry about it.

Hi Vyolla,
Thank you so much for your reply.
I logged in via my normal computer that I always use, plus I did not have my VPN on and I logged in via my usual browser. So nothing had changed from the ordinary, everything was exactly the same as usual.
It just seems odd everything is the same as usual but it decided to ask me if I trust my browser - I do not understand why?

Sometimes messages are triggered for no apparent reason, I honestly can't see that this one is anything to worry about.
At the moment many eBayers (myself included) are receiving messages telling us that a new device is using our eBay accounts, located somewhere counties away, telling us to change our passwords if not us. These messages appear to have been triggered by an over sensitive bot somewhere, but messages relating to genuine security issues may also be caught up in this, which is tedious.

Quite often happens if there has been an update made to your browser - that is usually when I get the message. ( had one yesterday which was just after a browser update)

Nothing to bother about. I often get.........
ENTER EMAIL ADDRESS.......
CHOOSE ACCOUNT.......
SEND TEXT TO PHONE.......
ENTER TEXT......
TRUST THIS BROWSER.......
SOLVE CAPTCHA......
AND THEN OF COURSE THE `A NEW DEVICE IS USING YOUR ACCOUNT`.
It`s a complete pain, but I suppose a necessity to security of the account. I don`t know why it can`t remember that you already TRUST the browser, and why you have to go through that screen every time.
