I have not had any discounts on sellers fees since February, yet friends and family are still receiving them. Is anyone having the same experience?

How can they have a monopoly when so many come on here saying how great all the other sites are compared to e bay??
27-09-2024 9:06 AM
In the same way Greggs do, but my local bakery is better in my opinion, but only open 3 days a week unlike greggs 7 days a week
27-09-2024 9:08 AM
but it is still not a monopoly! In your example it is down to your local bakery to decide whether they want to open 3 or 7 days, Greggs are not stopping them.

Greggs are though, because my bakery cannot afford to be open on days where business is slow and they take a loss, they don't have a choice (mainly during the week), whereas Greggs can afford successfully to be open everyday, and then people start to think I'll just go to Greggs because they're always open, and then all the lovely bakeries close down...

Yep my 80% off selling fees has stopped and I have a 100% perfect selling and buying record so I've stopped selling until they return.
27-09-2024 10:03 AM
It will be next weekend, or they have stopped entirely
27-09-2024 10:12 AM
You after one lol? I'll do you a good deal when the 80% off is back
27-09-2024 11:02 AM
Strange it's not happening this week, prime time with payday for many. It makes me feel like they are doing away with this deal.

I just called customer service and they confirmed it won't happen this week-end either.
The agent was super helpful and transparent, he told me the marketing team is having discussions right now on whether or not to continue with these discounts, and there is no decision yet.
They told me everyone is asking about this, so CS agents also can't wait for a decision to be made !
27-09-2024 12:25 PM
We know it wont happen this weekend, it is every 2 weeks... so it will be next weekend or it is over
27-09-2024 12:27 PM
My sentiments entirely! I have already stopped 200 listings on two accounts I have with ebay that had the 80% offer. I will not relist them and my further 200 listings will stop in 10days time when the further offer is finished. If everyone did this then that will make a huge impact on ebay. I can afford to do this and will get a website up and running for my items or will revaluate where I sell my items.
So it could be goodbye ebay 🙂 Watch this space ......

My waistline is testamount to me doing my best to keep my local lovely bakery / cake shop open!
Our Greggs in town, actually we have 2 in town 🤔 have people queuing out of the door, this I see at all times of the day. I remember reading once, some Greggs up North somewhere, when other places are closing late in the evening, they have to have bouncers outside Greggs doors, there are so many people queueing, and fights break out when those sausage rolls run out !

Only 2 in town? Pfft clearly not a northern city where we dont have a bad word said about Greggs as its our church (5 within 5 minutes walk of each other here, 20 within 5 miles of my address). Newcastle had the bouncers, perfectly understandable though as a stottie or sausage roll at 3am can easily cause a fight.

Yes, likewise.
The last couple i received were 70% off but that was a couple of months ago, and nothing since.
Guess its time to find a new selling platform.

Ooops, I didn't describe that very well, we have 2 on the high street, literally yards away from each other, many more scattered on the perimeters!

just to continue the wandering away from the moaners (usually pseudo private sellers) complaining about not getting the promotion i will add that i have just spent the morning at a Mcmillan coffee morning and had a lovely home made sausage roll and won a raffle prize of a home made death by chocolate cake!! Greggs sausage rolls are not worth the 7 mile trip into town anyway, they used to be but like all businesses have gone down hill which brings us neatly back to e bay! For all its faults i will be sticking with it, it suits me and if i get a promotion then fine if not that is still fine. I list every week regardless, i just want to get rid of my stuff and as long as i can get more than a car boot i will continue doing so.

No, there weren't any last weekend so they could have skipped a week for some reason and do it this weekend instead.
But that's not what's happening. Don't hold your breath for next week either. Things are changing.
28-09-2024 9:43 PM
The bottom line is that ebay members were not told by ebay that the REGULAR promotions would not continue, failure to COMMUNICATE is what it is

So exactly how do you know that final value fee promotions are a thing of the past? Do you work for eBay?
29-09-2024 6:28 AM
1/ How do you know this promotion is not continuing and 2/ nowhere does e bay say this is a regular promotion. It is a promotion and they can end it when they want, it it not part of the T & Cs and it has only become 'regular' for some of us lucky ones and even then only for a relatively short time. They never used to have it every two weeks, I used to get a nice surprise to get the £1 fvf. Problem with all this moaning is that they may decide not to start it again on a regular basis.
