Hi,
First of all I dont understand whats that hype eBay is creating about Free listings. Listings costed few cents before anyway, no? and Free if it was 7 days listings.
What is free now? Don't understand the hype?
Lastly, ever since they made the listings "free". Sellers are not getting 80% off variable selling fees.
It used to be quite useful for people who were ocassionally sellers who couldn't save anything if ebay takes 10% of the profit. Not to mention occassional sellers or people who are selling used items don't make more than 10-15% profit anyway.
But here we are. 😞
Thank you eBay.
Regards

There are now no final value fees for private sellers (except vehicles), so a big saving.

80% off nothing would be nothing, so not sure what the issue is?

Ebay has now done away with selling fees for private sellers, which makes it free to sell, and makes the 80% off offer redundant.

There were No Listing fees before for Private sellers, up to 1000 listings a month, those lucky enough to receive the (in)frequent promotional offers yes a big saving was made on the seller fees which were charged then.
Now there are no seller fees to pay for Private sellers.
With No Listing Fees and No Seller fees therefore as you can see here, no need for those Promotional Offers . It is as it says ' on the tin' It's Free to sell on eBay. For Private sellers.

i'd be happy if they reinstated it, even at 70% just for the extra 100 free listings each time
it be would be worth paying the 30% selling fee

Just pay the 35p listing fee for any extra you need - that is still cheaper than paying 30% fees, even with 70% off.

Do they still teach math at UK schools? 😀

Oh so there is no final value fee now?
I seeee.....
Thats brilliant then! I thought they would still take 10% final value fee.

Nope, for Private sellers, there's no Final Value Fee to pay when items sell, and there's 300 free listings per month. You can list more if you like then there's a 35p listing fee to pay. per listing over that limit.
Optional listing upgrades if selected have to be paid , and payment due if you choose to promote your listings.
Vehicles excluded.

Ebay is missing out here. If they continued to offer 80% off occasionally, it would suck in those who are seriously challenged in the arithmetic department!
