I can see posts and repues
posts show what I’ve started as a thread, replies shows what I’ve posted in general
the only g is so and so poster replied to topic
but I can’t see anywhere where it shows when people have replied to you personally
only asking cos I don’t like not replying to a reply iyswim
I can’t seem to keep track on this

I don't know of anyway to tell when someone replies to you personally apart from trawling through a thread and seeing the post that way.

When you're here in the forum there is the customary message symbol in the shape of an envelope... top right of your screen.

The only thing that I can think of is when a notification pops up "x mentioned you in a comment" when they quote your user name.

Well exactly
thanks
There is no notification
and sometimes I post a lot but next day can’t remember exactly everywhere to go and check and “trawl”
thats one thing I dislike about this board feature
the other is you don’t know where you are exactly in a discussion always, top bottom middle, it’s eeeewww having to check the date and time of posts
anyway

Not seen that here but thank you

When you log onto the boards first look at the bell symbol on the top right of the page. It will say if you have any notifications. When you click onto it you will see any replies you may have to threads/posts you have made.
Another way to check when and where you have posted is to click on your user name in this forum. There you will see your board activity so it's easy to see exactly when and where you have posted.

Thank you for that
it still does not show me directly that x has replied to your post
so that I can go and reply to them
its all trawling to find
doesnt matter
its a cr app y board format …not seen any like it either but that’s eBay for you lol

I use a laptop and Chrome so not sure if this is available on the app or mobile browser, but after finishing a post before you send it ' live' , just below click on ' Additional options' then tick the box >> Email me when someone replies.

That's not a reply to you though, it's a reply to anyone who posted on the thread. Hence some of the stroppy comments people make.

@tressygirl Yes I’ve seen that option too on Safari/iPad.
@edwardian-dreams Also if you clicking on ‘my profile’ in the top right there is a settings option with preferences tab. Playing about with that may have an option.
(However whatever I do I’ve never been able to rid my forum feed of the autograph hunters posts!)

Aaah yes, that's what I meant, the initial notification will be telling you of a reply to the post you make, then yes, you receive notifications of all future posts entered and yep, some good some bad. 😶

Thanks tressygirl and @bojangled @“guinevere” also any others I missed for suggestions
In my settings I’ve unticked “do not email me”
when it emails me when someone replies I’ll see if it’s a reply to a post of mine or a reply to the thread in general
cheers again
edit
just got an email , it was a general reply
I not sure this forum board format tells you of anything more specific
you get x marked your post as helpful but not x replied to your post
oh well
wont lose sleep over it
