Global Shipping Programme reference ID customer specific instead of order specific, apparently...

Well this is news to me...I have a buyer in Australia who's bought three CDs. They've combined two of them when paying, so in my orders section, where there were three orders, there are now two. The thing is that both orders have the same GSP reference number (usual A-10 digits-two letters denoting country) - I've queried this on a call with a customer rep on eBay, who's said that this isn't an issue and that the reference number indicates the buyer/person rather than the order. I did ask them if they were sure and they said that there'd be no problem going ahead sending the orders with the same ref number. I was wondering if anyone else is aware of this as I always presumed it was order/transaction specific.

Hi jjambadger27, thanks for your post.

If you confirm the item number for the transactions in question, I'd be happy to look into it for you.

Thank you,

Marco

Maybe it changed at some point, I'm sure I've had both scenarios.

It was worth querying with ebay as I was recently tricked by an international buyer who bought two £300 items off me at around the same time through offers. One of the orders had the GSP details and the other had his international address so stupidly I sent both in the same package through GSP.

The tracking showed that the package was delivered but the buyer claimed that it wasn't, which leaves me in a situation where I will probably lose my money because I didn't send the two items in two different ways even though logically that makes no sense
