When a buyer buys a collection only item, they have to pay through eBay checkout, as cash on collection is no longer allowed.
After paying they receive a 6 digit QR collection code.
You could send the member a polite message after the item has been purchased and paid for that they must bring along that code, as you cannot release the item without it.
Scanning the code, or entering the numbers manually alongside ...confirm collection, is your only proof of collection ( delivery) and that is when your payout can be released.

Hey, that doesn’t sound good! I’m looking at selling fishing rods.

Buyers are normally happy with the item when they collect as they have time to see it, inspect it and talk to you about the condition.
I have never had a collection item returned in 20 years of being on Ebay.
Just make sure that you put a good description of the condition in the listing with plenty of photo's.

Yes it's rare but definitely possible. I think missdolly may be remembering the 'Aga Saga' from about a year (?) ago...!

Do you have 2 identical items?
If not, delete one of your listings, as you could get 2 buyers, one item, and then, one big headache!
Use this link to end one of the listings.....
