Getting funds for collected items

Hey, I want to sell something that will need to be collected in person. How will I get the funds for this? On my account funds aren’t released until the item has been delivered.

thank you

Re: Getting funds for collected items

When a buyer buys a collection only item, they have to pay through eBay checkout, as cash on collection is no longer allowed.

After paying they receive a 6 digit QR collection code.

You could send the member a polite message after the item has been purchased and paid for that they must bring along that code, as you cannot release the item without it.

Scanning the code, or entering the numbers manually alongside ...confirm collection, is your only proof of collection ( delivery) and that is when your payout can be released.

Please be aware that even if you obtain a collection code on collection, a dishonest buyer can claim SNAD and you will have to refund and pay for return postage. What type of item are you thinking of listing?

Hey, that doesn’t sound good! I’m looking at selling fishing rods.

Re: Getting funds for collected items

Buyers are normally happy with the item when they collect as they have time to see it, inspect it and talk to you about the condition.

I have never had a collection item returned in 20 years of being on Ebay.

Just make sure that you put a good description of the condition in the listing with plenty of photo's.

Re: Getting funds for collected items

Fishing tackle is not what I would term is a high risk item of interest to scammers so you should be okay.  It may be worth looking at offering potential buyers the option of sending their own courier😉.

Yes it's rare but definitely possible. I think missdolly may be remembering the 'Aga Saga' from about a year (?) ago...!

This is not the place to advertise your items.

Looks to me as though you have listed the same item twice! What if two people buy it?

Do you have 2 identical items?

If not,  delete one of your listings,  as you could get 2 buyers,  one item,  and then,  one big headache!

Use this link to end one of the listings.....
