Hi Everyone,
So i sold a PS5 Disc Drive via collection, the buyer collected and was happy with the product (was brand new sealed box and everything) and scanned the QR code, smooth transaction, nothing wrong on the buyers end.
However, the funds are on hold for 30 days, until exactly Christmas Day, this is insane.
I have contacted EBay 3 times, they can't release the funds because they want to give the buyer time to test the product and everything, basically want to give the buyer 30 days to open a case, if they don't that's when i get my funds, which i think is wrong.
Firstly, i'm a private seller, i accept no returns unless the item is not as described.
If he asked for a return, i would decline anyways.
I think collection now 100% favors the buyer instead of the seller, where it used to be pretty fair. I have had this EBay account for nearly 4 years, and have sold £3,000.00 worth of items in the past 3 weeks!!
I have explained to the agents that if there was a genuine issue, i would refund the buyer regardless (even tho i dont have too!!)
I am at the point in my EBay account where my funds don't even go on hold anymore, straight payout as i have sold so much.
I have been told different info by different agents, 3 have said if buyer left positive feedback and confirmed the item is fine, i can get them manually released. Live chat this morning got told no that can't happen.
This also makes no sense as not everyone leaves feedback on EBay, i've sold a total of 46 items on my account, with only 15 100% positive feedback. EBay doesn't force you to give feedback, the buyer also isn't responding.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is a good job i am not in desperate need of these funds.

You can't speed it up, but it shouldn't take the maximum 30 days.
Payment holds frequently seem to have no rhyme or reason.

Yeah, this one does not make sense at all.
To be fair EBay haven't been very helpful on this, i keep getting mixed info on it which is making my brain go crazy.

You have sold a lot of brand new items in a short space of time, many are identical items using library pictures.
That will ring bells with Ebay as they will question many things including your status.
All sellers have to accept returns if the MBG is shown on the listing. All a buyer has to do is claim item is not as described and they get a free return at sellers cost.
If a seller declines the request Ebay will force the refund from sellers bank and may well tell buyer there is no need to return.

It appears as though you might've recently passed the HMRC reporting threshold on this account. This might be what has flagged your recent sale and caused a payment hold on the transaction.
Alternatively, it might be your incorrect seller status, or the fact that you are selling multiple high price/risk items within a short space of time.

Did this get sorted? Or did you have to wait the 30 days?
