Do I need to relist my current items to get the "Free to Sell" offer

I also just spoke with a customer support agent. He confirmed that existing listings WILL benefit from the "free to sell" without the need to stop and relist the item. He said as long as the sale occurs today or in the future there is no selling fees (subject to the stated additional fees for listing upgrades, international sales etc).

No.Buy it nows roll over automatically until sold.

I'm sure it said that current listings will incur FVF?

So I will automatically get today's "Free to Sell" offer without re-listing?

I believe although the 300 listings starts today , but the Free to Sell starts from October 16th.

So the October 16th is only to do with how youre paid, as it wont be automatic anymore.
But yes also looking for a clear answer on whether I need to relist my items for them to count on the no fees

I don't really understand the 16th being mentioned - the ebay front page now says "it's now free to sell" and the "sell for free" button takes us to the page to start a new listing? I took down all my listings as I've not been happy paying full price since the %FVF offers ended a few weeks ago. When am I safe to relist the items to get the no fees offer? Thanks.

It doesn't mention anywhere if it'll be applied to existing listings, so to be on the safe side I'd assume that it applies to listings submitted from today.
Starting Tuesday 1 October 2024, private sellers will not pay transaction fees when they sell items on eBay.co.uk
Taken from eBay's announcement here:

I'll probably spend the time doing 'sell similar' to create new listings to be safe.
I don't mind the money staying on ebay (as I spend more on ebay than I sell) however I will probably still withdraw as I like to earn credit card cashback (and topcashback) on all my ebay purchases and labels.

Yep, gonna have to retract the 16th October notification, I defintiely read it somewhere on a link Free to sell someone provided , that it would start on the 16th, but now yep, seems all announcements are pointing to it starting today.
Think the 16th October reference points to how payments to sellers are made now? That is, not direct to your bank , but into an ' ebay balance' and one has to claim when you require a payout .

Here's their announcements on future payouts, how they're to be managed:
As for payouts, private sellers will have their balance automatically transferred to their bank account every quarter, or they can withdraw it on request. Business sellers will still have full control over payout timings.

I have just spoken to an agent and he has confirmed that I do NOT need to relist my items to get the "Free to Sell" offer and it does start today 🙂

I also have a transcript of the conversation "just in case" 🙂

Hi, I am not sure about the 'Free to Sell' covering existing listings (contrary to what an Agent may think).
I would play safe and end existing listings and then do a 'sell similar' listing. That way you will definitely come into the new rules. You can even afford to lower prices slightly with no fees to pay, haha.

It took about 20mins to relist my 192 items as 'sell similar' which gives them a search boost anyway.
I will reduce the price on some of my slower moving stuff that has been listed for years where my price (even on a 70/80% FVF offer) was already at a floor of what was worth my time in selling. The biggest problem was the low value items that needed parcel rate postage where the cost of fees on postage was around the same as the cost of fees on the item sale price.

I can confirm that no fees on existing listing started today. I sold an item at 07.00 this morning that was listed yesterday, and incured only the international buyer fee.

I was thinking about reductions also until I remembered postage costs going up this month, so will check that out first!
