Im absolutely furious! Ebay have changed their policy and are now refusing to pay monies (which belong to the buyer) until the item has been posted and received!!
I have been selling on Ebay for 19 years and this is how we are being treated?
I will NOT pack and post my valuable antiques until I have been paid! I have never heard anything so ridiculous! Can we not be trusted? Shame on you Ebay! You are the loser here! I have now cancelled all sales and 67 listings and I will find another platform to sell my antiques with someone that values me!!

Oh no, they are even worse. They charge fees you haven't got a clue what they are for.
Listing fees
Transaction fees
Processing fees
Regulatory Operating fee
VAT on seller fees
In the end you earn less than what you pay on fees.
I saw advertising on TV for an store you can sell antiques or vintage stuff, I just can't recall what it was called. The other option is of course build your own website but that costs a lot nowadays too and you will spend a lot of time promoting your products on social media.

Join the club. I've suspended all mine. If they fix this mess well I'll consider restarting. But Its unlikely.

Actually the chance that even a tracked item is not scanned is very possible.
Reasons:
Scanner not working.
Scanner not transmitting
Whole system down.
But certainly better than using standard. Last December I had almost 20 2nd Class items and one 48 tracked that never showed as delivered. Only 1 actually didn't turn up (delivered to the wrong address). The buyer looked for it but was unsuccessful and in the end I refunded and 2 weeks later it was returned to me so no loss there, Phew!
Anyway it was the reason why I switched everything to 48 hours tracked.
I actually had a really weird one the other week. Sold some yarn, packed and measured (was small enough for small parcel) sent and over a week later the buyer got in touch saying she didn't have it yet. I checked online and it still sat in the mailing centre. Not even moved to the delivery office yet. Thankfully the next day they finally decided to delivery it. But I thought it was a joke. 12 days from pick up to finally deliver it.
So you see, Royal Mail is not perfect and to connect the payment system to an extremely flawed delivery tracking system is utterly ridiculous.
I have sent eBay several emails about it and all I get the same standard reply. Like I was an idiot or something. Same with the 75p per item, which has a massive impact on low priced items, which is what I sell. My knitting patterns shot up from £1.25 to £2.02. I had a look around and it seems I am still cheaper than everyone else. But how do I explain this increase to my regulars who maybe are not up to date with eBays shenanigans?

Now we just need to teach buyers to leave feedback in the first place. 50% are too lazy or maybe just do it once a month, if at all.

Is it worth you upgrading to a business account? with over 7k of sales and 1.8k of listings , the new rules will not apply.
This way your items will appear much cheaper, and your regular buyers may keep buying.

If everyone does the same then they will soon change it back.

Tricia-o is doing a great job here.
Check out current reviews on Trust Pilot. Ours have got nothing in some of these!

Same here. I've cancelled all listings and gone elsewhere.

Most buyers don't bother to give feedback any more.
20-02-2025 9:22 PM
of course they can, they alter the T & Cs and you either accept them or not!
20-02-2025 9:30 PM
so what are the 59 items doing listed on your account then??

I have 2 items currently in pending. Royal mail have not updated the tracking, I have contacted them but had no response. Both items have been received by the buyer and feedback left by them one over a week ago and the other 4 days ago. The funds are still pending for these 2 items (I have others but no update on tracking or feedback rcd). Funds for the 2 items with feedback have not been released, where in the ebay help does it state funds are available following received feedback?
