Im absolutely furious! Ebay have changed their policy and are now refusing to pay monies (which belong to the buyer) until the item has been posted and received!!
I have been selling on Ebay for 19 years and this is how we are being treated?
I will NOT pack and post my valuable antiques until I have been paid! I have never heard anything so ridiculous! Can we not be trusted? Shame on you Ebay! You are the loser here! I have now cancelled all sales and 67 listings and I will find another platform to sell my antiques with someone that values me!!
Solved! Go to Solution.

But royal mail dont always update tracking I have 4 outstanding Royal Mail tracked parcels, one requiring a signature for which I paid extra value £115. Thankfully this item sold just prior to the changes so I have received the funds. The other 3, 2 have been received as feedback left, the other still waiting delivery. Its not working very well as everything depends on other factors. All I know is I list as accurately as possible, answer queries when required, parcel and post asap and help buyers if needed. I fulfill all my responsibilites perhaps ebay should do the same.

"Its not working very well as everything depends on other factors. "
It's not working very well for you.
It may be working exactly as planned for them.
They get to keep your money longer if things don't go perfectly and it's not like couriers have only just started not scanning items as delivered. That's been around for quite a while, so it would be a fair bet that eBay knew that when planning this new update.

"where in the ebay help does it state funds are available following received feedback? " - this was announced a week or so ago however it will only relate to items under £10.00 that were sent untracked. Payment will be made 2 days after positive feedback has been left however this is a forthcoming feature eBay stated would be implemented at the end of the month. It is not active yet.

So what happens when buyers don't bother to leave feedback?

Either, you get paid 48 hours after tracking confirms delivery, or 14 days after the transaction.
This was all in the email sent to sellers on January 3rd and has certainly been at the top of my selling page for weeks:
As of 4 Feb, funds will typically be available in your eBay balance 2 days after delivery.

Ebays returns policies mean nothing either , the buyer can damage a brand new item then ask for a return and refund and ebay allow it ,even the buyers messages to me prove how she damaged the item ,and then she sent it back in totally different packaging and Ebay tell me that she has done nothing wrong ,it is a total farce

Anyone seen anything like the screenshot on the above thread before?
I've seen similar on a Business Seller thread and they think it's Simple Delivery.

No you do not, you get paid after the 14 days when there is no delivery confirmation.

I have done exactly the same been with them years too

Is that your tongue I can see?
Used to be called ESCROW in the old days on here, when EBAY also said DO NOT SHIP UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN PAID.
I doubt you'd remember as your clearly still in nappies.
14 days now, 28 days when SD becomes mandatory IF the buyer does not mark it as delivered (yeah right.....)
Ever considered buying HALF PRICE postage on e-bay to use? THAT market's gone.
When SD is mandatory where can a seller add a charge for packaging?
Sellers are DROPPING prices to cover the new charge-incidentally now 75p plus 4% PER ITEM. Who would want to pay that to sell?
25 years on here, now gone, can't be ar**d.

'IF the buyer does not mark it as delivered '
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How would a buyer do that? Currently there is *no* button to push to 'mark as delivered'.
And I don't suppose ebay will introduce such a button, as that might make the 'money hold' a bit shorter....

I made a telephone complaint to ebay this morning as they hadn't released funds for three items which received feedback last week. I just received notification that the complaint was not upheld as 'we have provided you with the correct information'.
I promptly sent a further detailed complaint to the ombudsman and would encourage others to do so if they find themselves in the same situation.
I also curious to know what happens to the funds for any item sent by unregistered mail that the buyer does not leave feedback for if anyone here knows?
