Evri via packlink wrongly charged

After years of no problems i am being charged £3.18 frequently for items well under 1kg with claims they are at least 1240g which is wrong as i have started double checking on checked scales.

Will no longer use Evri as it means i'm selling at a loss.

The trackng number doesn't even work when using the links to question.

But Packlink do blame EVRi when they over charge.

How comes I, and others, have never had issues when going straight to Evri?

Most of the time, the problem stems with the broker - I have had issues with Packlink and Interparcel, which are the two cheapest and scummiest.

Re: Evri via packlink wrongly charged

I have just had the same issue this morning with a package that was delivered over a month ago now.

I won’t be using Evri again either!

The problem isn't Evri though, you shouldn't be direction your issues at Evri

You should be direction your issues at Packlink, as they probably aren't making enough money to cover their services so throw in bogus surcharges.

Most decent companies will tell you during shipping, or just after delivery, that there was an issue - not 1 to 2 months later.

Basically, don't use Packlink (or eBay delivery which is Packlink in disguise).

Re: Evri via packlink wrongly charged

Absolutely right.  Packlink need investigating by eBay or police for running a scam.  Ask them for evidence.  They never have any.
ITS A SCAM.  DONT USE PACKLINK VIA EBAY.

Evri are blameless.  Just book them direct yourself and not via any eBay app.
I've told You and Yours at Radio 4 but no response.  If more people do likewise they may sit up.

Evri are blameless.  It is Packlink via eBay that are scamming customers.  Ask for evidence as there will be none.  If you have any pics of goods on scales etc tell them you do but don't send it yet.
Report it to You and Yours programme on Radio 4.

Re: Evri via packlink wrongly charged

How do you do this buy direct from Evri ? I have had 2 of these in a month and the items were not over weight but I've no proof . It's been fine before this . Can I just use royal mail ?

Re: Evri via packlink wrongly charged

Just buy evri services direct online.  Google evri and send a parcel.  Ask Packlink for proof or demand your money back.  Forget eBay, they don't give a hoot about this.  Same goes for Yodel IE buy direct, but when you weigh your wrapped parcel, take a photo!

You can either go to Evri's website:

https://www.evri.com/

Or you can use a decent broker (emphasis on decent):

https://www.parcel2go.com/

These will only surcharge you if the parcel is actually heavier than what you say, unlike Packlink who are probably operating at a loss and will just throw a surcharge at you on a whim so they can break even/make a profit.

Personally I wouldn't bother with Yodel at all, they are beyond hopeless... Parcel2Go, who i linked to earlier, should also have Yodel on there.

Yodel's website is https://www.yodel.co.uk/ should anyone wish to use them.

Re: Evri via packlink wrongly charged

I have been charged again for a package sent trough EVRI via packlink. The package weighs less than 200g but the claim it is more than 1KG. When I challenge they are asking proof of the package, Can anyone sending more than 100 packages keep evidence. What a harassment that we need to spend time and energy to deal with this

Re: Evri via packlink wrongly charged

Have you asked them for their proof that it was overweight? I challenged and they said they would let it go this time .I know it was under but like you had no proof but I now weigh and photograph anything I send by evri . Mostly I've switched to Royal Mail as it weight is done in front of you

Re: Evri via packlink wrongly charged

Short answer: don't deal with Packlink. Use your own account with Evri, or just send one-offs with Evri directly.  Packlink are scammers; avoid at all cost.

Re: Evri via packlink wrongly charged

Not heard of simple delivery, but speak with your custom.  Do not buy postage via eBay.  Simple.

Fortunately it's looking like packlink *won't* be involved in Simple Delivery.

As the buyer will be paying, through ebay, for simple delivery, the seller shouldn't have any contact with the delivery company at all..... buyer pays postage to ebay, ebay buys postage from courier, ebay sends seller the postage label, seller gives parcel to courier.
