Hi
I recently moved and updated my adress from PA1 to PA2 but now the Evri postage thing thinks I’m in a remote area which I’m not. I’m even using the same drop off point. The post code is entered correctly so I don’t understand why it’s happening.
Has anyone come across this?

If a surcharge is being applied it is likely due to where your buyer is located rather than yourself. You can download a list of postcode areas Evri deems "remote" from this page. I've had a quick look and PA2 is not considered remote but PA20+ is. That makes me wonder...how does your postcode appear in eBay? Is it correctly formatted, i.e. PA2 xxx or is there a space in the wrong place i.e. PA2 xxxx?

Seller is not remote and my postcode is formatted correctly. I’ve even re entered my address but still no success. I used my parents PA1 postcode as the sending address and the charge went back to normal. I suspect the system thinks it’s PA27 which is remote in their terms.
The irony is I’m using the same drop off place as before…

Ah, OK...it is the item location then. What happens if you obtain a quote directly from Evri's website or a parcel broker like Interparcel, ParcelHero, Parcel Monkey, Parcel2Go etc? Is the surcharge applied then?
Note that if you are purchasing the label via eBay you are purchasing from a broker called Packlink so the problem is likely with them rather than Evri.

It doesn't matter. If you purchase a label via eBay the postcode that appears in the "item location" is used as that is where the item would be returned to should a return be opened.

It’s definitely an EBay/packlink issue then. I’ve tried on Evri’s own site and I get a correct quote.

All you really need to do then is to book any non-Royal Mail shipping via the courier's own website or one of the brokers I mentioned. As an aside all the parcel brokers I mentioned are registered in the UK - unlike Packlink who are registered in Spain - making it much easier to enforce your legal rights should you ever find you have the need to.
