Ebay simple delivery opt out

So ebay have decided to force private sellers to use simple delivery for all listings.

Previously you could select advanced options in postage and select your preferred postage method  as before.

Did ebay announce this to private sellers - did they ....

I searched around a while and eventually got this from the chat bot:

"Eligible listings will show Simple Delivery as an option when you're creating a listing. Starting 15 April, 2025, Simple Delivery will be the only delivery method available for private sellers when listing eligible items."

The recent changes like BPF and simple delivery have been extremely irritating but not terminal. I think this is terminal for me.

I cannot express on this forum without getting deleted my extreme annoyance with ebay.

I also find this extremely frustrating.

I have been ignoring the simple delivery option & shipping my items as I did previous using my own choice of courier. However, there is nowhere for me to add the tracking details, so all my orders permanently show 'delivery overdue' even though I have confirmed the were all delivered!

Come on eBay give us back the choice!

Re: Ebay simple delivery opt out

Of course, business sellers, which would include members who state 'We are resellers of IT, office equipment & supplies' don't need to use Simple Delivery.

They just need to upgrade their private account to a business account.

Re: Ebay simple delivery opt out

Hi all

I'm finding it difficult to work out how to change my listings so that Simple Delivery is no longer the default, could someone kindly tell me how you do it?

I have nearly 200 listings, 90% of them are under the £20 limit, mostly mugs & t-shirts.  I design my products but they're printed & despatched by a 3rd party so simple delivery has been a real problem for me, I can't wait to see the back of it.

Do I have to create all new listings or am I just struggling to find where to make the changes?

Re: Ebay simple delivery opt out

this isn’t really the right thread to discuss your issue as simple delivery only impacts Private Sellers. Given what you state you do, you should be a business seller.

try the one below.

Re: Ebay simple delivery opt out

Thank you for your quick response.  I'm actually not a business seller but a private seller, I try & sell products that I have designed, it's a hobby that earns me a tiny bit of extra income.  I'd like to make it a business in time but I fear that is probably unlikely as my designs are quite quirky & would appeal to quite a limited market.  Having said that, I do enjoy creating new artworks.

If you know how to address the issue for a private seller, I'd appreciate your guidance.

Re: Ebay simple delivery opt out

I would suggest you look up what ebay deem a business seller.

Do I need a business account?

If you plan to sell casually, such as selling items you no longer want, a private account is the best option.

If you want to sell large quantities, if you have items that you've made or bought to resell or if you already have a business outside of eBay, you’ll need to register a business account.
