Ebay’s TV advertisement

Does anyone have a theory as to why ebay's TV advertisement is as it is?

It’s well documented that ebay's CEO wants ebay to move in the direction of high-value items and buyers who spend a lot of money.

So why is the advertisement promoting the selling of low-value items, and by implication, reaching out to buyers *looking for* low-value items?

And since it typically costs five to twenty-five times more to acquire a new customer than to retain an existing one, why have ebay been hell-bent on alienating existing sellers of low-value items, only to spend a vast amount of money on replacing them?

Any theories anyone?

Ebay’s TV advertisement

I don’t

and I don’t care

Vinteds ads are more realistic and down to earth

besides ebays ad is out of date

its been free to list for ages now

anyone interested would know that anyway why spend millions telling them what they already know

and if they’re potential new sellers they’re after there’s plenty on eBay to put them off lol

As for eBay ceo wanting only high value goods

think he’s talking out of his backside personally

what percentage of all eBay sells are high market price
