Ebay are hiding the Buyer Protection Fee

This is first time I have listed something for sale on Ebay as a private seller since all the changes and it seems to me that Ebay are being very covert about this buyers protection fee. The have effectively hidden the fee in my listing price. They need to make a clear distinction on the listing page for the sale price and their additional  buyers fee as they do with any postage costs. There is a temptation to reduce my listing price as it looks higher than I wanted but then, I will have effectively paid the fee myself and it has not been free to sell!

Ebay are hiding the Buyer Protection Fee

Thanks, savoirfaire, your post reminded me to look up again about mentors https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Community-Notice-Board/Community-Mentor-Programme/ba-p/7612430

In case readers don't want to look through the whole thing, in part eBay says:

"Here are the boxes you need to check to become a Mentor:

Active eBay buyer or seller
Post frequently in the Community
Positive Community participant for more than 6 months
Advocate of eBay
Willing to help others
Follower of the Community Guidelines"

I particularly noticed "active eBay buyer or seller" and "advocate of eBay".

Those are what's required to "become a Mentor". I assume there's no canny wording, and so that it also means "stay being a Mentor".

Things seem to be moving off-topic. Let's steer the conversation back towards Buyer Protection Fee

This is mostly a posting account. I also have a private account.

I can be critical of specific Ebay actions while still being an advocate of ebay as a whole.

Correcting posters biased and ill informed posts does not make me an 'ebay hugger' just someone who likes to put accurate information out there.
