Dispatch time

Not only have Ebay hijacked my current listings today-altering most to Simple Delivery with no notification that they were going to do so, but they have also informed me with a banner across the top of my listings, that my dispatch time has been altered to 2 days instead of 3.

This becomes really awkward over a weekend particularly,as I have to book a collection with Royal Mail-that eats up one day of the dispatch already (when its still sitting here waiting for Monday).

Is there any way to change it back ?

Yes!  I've changed all mine to 3 days but you can't do it through preferences you have change each one individually.

Scroll down on your listing to the box where it shows exclusions.  I will try and take a screen shot but at the moment you might be able to do it without until I can go onto my a/c.  There it will show your dispatch window (which eBay changed to 2 days).  It will show dispatch 1 day, 2 days or 3 days.  There is no option for any longer.  Hope this helps in the mean time.  When I relist something later I will take a screenshot.

I updated dispatch to 3 days on my Sister's Private Account last Thursday. 

As her items are under £10 and letter postage, she is using Custom Delivery setting not Simple Delivery. Today she informed me it has gone back to 2 days dispatch (the box is greyed out with faint 2 days dispatch showing).

This is what it says in the eBay help pages, under 'Estimated delivery dates for sellers':-

Handling and dispatch time

We define handling time as the time it takes you to hand over the item to the delivery service provider after the buyer has paid.

Buyers want their purchases to arrive quickly so we recommend setting a dispatch time of no more than 1 working day. Shorter dispatch times are always better if you can reliably meet them.

You set your handling time when creating a listing.

I checked a listing that did not have the dreaded 'updated to SD' blue banner, and the dispatch time drop-down menu went up to 40 days...

The listing that was recently updated to SD had 3 days as the maximum allowed dispatch time.

So, now that SD has taken over, it's 'chip-chop-pack-like-the-clappers-or-else...' 😳

Since my listings have been "updated" to SD with some curious conversations (camera lens to be posted in a large envelope) my dispatch time was also converted to two days however I have absolutely no way to change it to 3 days - it is simply missing when you create a listing?   I have tried PC, Macc, Android, different browsers and the App, I do know where to do the change because I have an almost unused account and it appears under preferences at the listing level.   However if you have the option you have to change it for every listing - it should be associated at account level like before rather than listing level.  Mine used to be 4 days for good reasons.

Ive changed it to 3 days, but in the listings have told the buyer how I will send it who with and how long, for me with work its 5 days....to be fair the odd person these days that buys something knows what's going with Ebay and they understand since they have read the listing....You get the feeling Ebay are like, You still there in Private Listings?? well lets see how you deal with this.....

Firstly I think the "Days" are Working days, ie not including Sundays and Bank Holidays — I'm not sure about Saturdays. 

One heffalump-trap I have found is that when booking collections on the RM web-site you could book one for the next day any time up to mid-night.  When doing it from e-Bay it seems it needs to be done by 10pm.

I sold something on Thursday, I have a 2 day handling time 

it said despatch by Monday so  maybe Saturday isn’t included 

however on another page when I bought the label it said ensure to post by Saturday 

I got the label today to get it ready for Monday so didn’t know they wanted me to send by Saturday 

I don’t know about other areas but here the post office is open until 11.45 am on Saturday
