I think the clothes category was the first category that ebay used simple delivery but I didn't know it was mandatory.

There are definitely no ways to opt out or use custom postage, or switch to advanced on the eBay app on iPad, so it seems app users have no choice….well, actually they do, simply stop selling on eBay as it’s getting ridiculous now. I have a business account and a personal account, so for postage I use my Royal Mail account for both and cross charge the postage costs to ensure everything is correct on the business, however, now, it seems I can’t do that anymore, so effectively I will lose the benefit and ease I have been used to, just so eBay can make a few extra pennies per sale.
if anyone knows of a way to opt out on iPad using the sell similar function, please let me know 🙏🏻

so it is now going to be forced on all of us - this so called simple delivery. Why is ebay not listening to its customers. Why are they trying to use methods of other companies like vinted? They will force their customers to go elsewhere.

So….. received the email from eBay today stating that for private sellers, Simple Delivery will be the ONLY option for postage, with existing listings automatically converting on 7th April.
So, goodbye eBay for my personal account, as I have my own Royal Mail account and have no need or desire to use the system you are forcing onto sellers.
Already, my sales have fallen by about 40% due to the badly thought out and implemented Buyer Protection Fee, so the forcing of Simple Delivery onto me is a step too far.
The business disruption and prevention team at eBay should be congratulated on their success.

Shame for eBay. Private sellers just being play around with what eBay want to be.

I’m wondering the same thing. Given Evri and a no label Post Office.
i want to choose what I do.
payments take forever as well.
not happy

Me neither, eBay have chosen the most unreliable postage courier in Evri, I have always used RM Tracked 48 where my items are covered up to £150, at the moment I can still change that on my iPhone, but it messes up the description and it comes out in one long line. My iPad will only do simple delivery if that uses normal RM post I am only covered up to £20 and what about if I want to sent an expensive item special delivery, there is no option, eBay obviously do not want private sellers because they are not doing this for business sellers, also since eBay have added buyers protection fees onto my item price the whole of May I did not sell one item. This is all so messed up.

This is complete *bleep*, I sell frozen products for reptiles and dogs, delivery should be within 24 hours and I am only given the choice of simple delivery, which is 3-5 days. This is bull*bleep*, I am outraged.

Use my workaround, you can then choose your own courier - perishables should be able to go express due to their very nature. Another ebay male hen-up.
09-07-2025 5:59 AM
Then you should register as a business, because that is what you are.
you can then choose your own faster postage options.

This work around should not apply to someone selling frozen perishables - who should not be on a Private account in the first place. Just want to make sure you didn't intend to mislead or confuse.

That is not for me to comment on - I am not one who tries to dictate to posters as to their account status. I leave that to the keyboard warriors. I am not misleading or confusing anyone.

'Yes I pay £20 a month to register a business on eBay but the problem is the
same on a private account and a business account'
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How? Business accounts don't have to deal with S.D.....
Do you mean you've got a 'shop'? (on a private account)
09-07-2025 8:42 AM
Paying for a shopfront is not the same as having a business account.if you upgrade to a business account (which with what you are selling you need to do) then you will not have to do simple delivery.
You should however be aware of the differing fee structure for business sellers

Educate in this case, as they seem genuinely unaware
09-07-2025 10:41 AM
As I said - I leave that to the keyboard warriors and take no part in it.

'Educate in this case, as they seem genuinely unaware'
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A lot of people *would* think that having a 'shop' and being offered stuff like 'out of stock' options/multi-listings etc, is enough to make it obvious they are a business.
The words 'shop' and 'business' are almost interchangable in the non-ebay real world...
Ebay has to share a little bit of the responsibility when sellers get it wrong.
They're not all 'evil tax-dodgers' : I believe some of them are genuinely confused.
