I may well be a bit dense but can anyone tell me unless the buyer sends you positive feedback how does EBay know something has been delivered so you can eventually receive payment

If the tracking doesn't update or an item is sent untracked the money will be released anyway after 14 days.

From the tracking.
Feedback doesn't count yet and when it does, it's only for items under £10.

I have an item that’s been delivered but it still states against the item ‘awaiting delivery’ .. I sent it tracked and can see a photo of the buyer accepting delivery.

Far too often the delivery confirmation doesn't get done by the carrier, and it seems that even when it does, the ebay system doesn't update properly.
I've had a package that was delivered on Friday, and the detailed tracking on the ebay order page states it has been delivered, but the ebay tracking line still shows 'Awaiting Dispatch', so presumably my seller isn't going to get the money for a fortnight. I left positive feedback, but it was a £50 item, so that wouldn't help even if the <£10 feedback confirmation function was in operation.
Ebay has become a complete shambles.

Ebay bring back fees for private sellers and also the previous quick payouts. I wonder why they introduced this new format for us lot? 🙄
