Has anyone else noticed lack of sales since the buyer protection update 4th february 2025. I used to sell quite a lot and virtually sold nothing since 4th Feb. Can anyone else relate to this and what can we do?

Same here. I had the promotion offers plus free postage and very slow sales.
Stamps and postcards buyers slowly going away. After 22 years with eBay so many changes as of this year.
I am trying to keep up with the changes on a daily bases of their operation now.
For example.
I had a sale yesterday item amount is £4.99 with free postage, repeat buyer was con into paying £2.25 TRACKED for label from eBay.
I opt out. I am (not with eBay postage system) too far to post office.
I questioned this it with one of agent on phone she said if I didn't use the label they will refund the buyer, with all the fees costs to buyer to eBay total £8.50 mine £4.99.
I am thinking to give up totally now, too much confusion. I will start to send out to my local auction in the near future. I don't drive to shows anymore.
I had messaged my buyer and send £1.00 postage towards his costs of postage with the Tracked label.

I Used to have a shop but now they have even taken away promotional sales or discounted items. Ebay is going down. Too many changes. Massive drop in sales

My sales have dropped by 75% since Feb 4th - Buyer protection fee, what a joke - buyers have consumer rights anyway? Or they could just open a dispute if anything went wrong wth the transaction and ebay would recover the costs from the seller. This is killing sales and the platform is now dead.
Thanks ebay - you ruined a once thriving platform.

I am in the same situation as you. I dropped prices without success. I think eBay has to do some adjustments to bpf otherwise I will be out of market soon

EBay user 24 years. 100% positive feedback. Never posted here. Barely sold anything since they introduced buyer protection. Disgusted. Leaving eBay!!

There are also several other consequences that derive from us private sellers cannot hammered in that charities suffer, couriers and royal mail lose out too, but do eBay care, not a jot.
I will give it till end of April to see if they rescind their rules

I totally agree with you. I never came to the forum before the Feb 4th rollout, was mostly content with the way things worked and found my own workarounds for things that weren't.
But the way they have implemented BPF and the original premise of Simple Delivery are simply unacceptable in my mind.
They actually have managed to make me consider joining Facebook. I despise everything about it, never had an account, never wanted one but they seem to be the only viable alternative for my main area of interest, Warhammer models.
I don't like Amazon either, but do respect what they do and if they fancy making some more money they just need to add something similar to what eBay had and I would be really surprised if there wasn't an exodus of users from here to there.
At least with them you know they are professional, even if they aren't likeable.
Google could probably wring something out in next to no time too.
From everything I have read here, eBay are on death row and are just waiting for someone to call time on them.
& the best part of it is, they've done it to themselves.

My sales dropped even I reduced prices without success. The platform is on the way to fail. What next now!

Unfortunately once I have my final money paid to me I will be closing my small sellers site and only will use ebay to buy a few odd bits, assuming there will be an ebay left.

I will try to sell the goods at cost price or a small loss. Unfortunately I have merchandise on the way from China. This is a nightmare!!

From your post there I admit I did try to look at your sales history/feedback, purely interest. I'm not one of the fake private seller bashers here.
But your feedback leads to a page error and the page error leads to a completely different accounts sales history.
Posting the above information in case anyone else tries to check (and there are a fair few that normally would based on what you said) and gets the same error as I think that would be something new.

In which case you are a business seller ( or should be) and none of these new changes will affect you.

And yet you operate on a private selling account!
Hoist by your own petard, no need to look at sales history.
