DROP IN SALES SINCE NEW BUYER PROTECTION 4TH FEB 2025

Has anyone else noticed lack of sales since the buyer protection update 4th february 2025. I used to sell quite a lot and virtually sold nothing since 4th Feb. Can anyone else relate to this and what can we do?

Me too. Crazy that ebay wants to get rid of private sellers. I too have been here since 2006. Sent from my Galaxy

same here us good sellers like myself have 100% feebdack record over 17 years! why should we be penalized and kept waiting for our funds with a good track record and have nothing to pay the courier costs on one item let alone if several items sell! I sell on other platforms by paypal payment i've had more people want to buy off ebay and payment through paypal now, because they won't be charged a fee. Yes sellers have to pay a small amount of sellers fees with paypal goods & services payment, but it was never as high as ebay and you get free buyer/seller protection with them. Why should buyers be charged for protection they should already have? its driving buyers away because the price they see & pay from a private seller is more than what the seller listed it at with the $5 added and 75p admin fee they hvae to pay ebay! sellers who have cheap items to sell under £10 is not worth it anymore

I'm afraid 'Complacency Rules' with ebay now! They simply don't give a fig
about Private Sellers anymore and their attitude is - If you don't like the
way you are being treated 'Tough'
Never thought I would leave ebay, after being here since 2004 but this
cannot go on for much longer, I can't shift anything right now, not even at
give away prices!

exactly the horrendous 4% buyers fee plus 75p admin fee buyers have to pay on top of your original listing price is chasing them away. small cheap items will no longer be cheap for a buyer. neither buyers or sellers are happy, seller snow have to wait for money when some items cost a fortune to post and if we don't have the money upfront how do we pay the courier!

Vinted must be loving the influx of ex eBay sellers they are getting. They're taking advantage of it too, they've added a lot of new categories including electronics

And stamps, another new category, very shrewd as ebay is no longer a selling platform worth selling stamps on now.

Only problem is i don't think i can join with the banking they have not got the id passport or driving licence, will keep an eye on it to see if they do postcards, it's all modern new ones last time i looked. They are advertising on TV clearly stating about the buyer fee as well, very clever

Vinted doesn't look any better than what's going on with ebay right now. It has Buyer Protection fee (30p-80p and 3% to 8%)

Payment is received after the item is delivered, and the buyer reports no issues.

Seems that ebay just copied Vinted.

I'll be giving Vinted a miss as well.

The truth is ebay are DUMB. I hope they go under.  Every year or so, some idiot gets a "bright idea", and they shoot themselves in the foot. I am not happy that sellers are losing but I hope ebay lose. But why would they learn from it?

And you can't fart now without needing a drivers license or passport. Everyone wants total surveilence. There are no official ID cards in the UK but they have still got a silent agreement which each other than a driver's license or passport is the new ID card. So basically they FORCE you to have one of those even if you don't.

DUMB.

All systems these days seems to be operating under the assumption of ZERO common sense and 100% bureaucratic retardation.

They seem to think that DUMB is the new smart.

This is the saying that defines our age; "if it's not broke, fix it. And now we have fixed it, it is now broke."
