Cost of postage increasing upon generation of the label

In doing a sell eBay give their recommendations - method/means of dispatch and the associated cost in this instance. My most recent was using Parcelforce 48, eBay set the price at £8. Upon generation/printing the label the cost became £17. Any ideas?

Same thing happened to me today. Had to use an alternative courier as was unable to select the original option.
