Changes to Buyer Protection fee. How does this help?

How on earth can this be good news and help me sell things? Yes a reduced flat fee - but look at the total cost in fees when all are added up? Without the ability to add multiple items into the basket, this is getting ridiculous now.

I agree. It's got to be a positive outcome.

'I sell collectables and some are as high as £12,000 - how does adding a fee to that help me sell it?

It used to be 4% = 75p now you have to do a multiple calculation to add the fee which cannot possibly be less than it was before. Please tell me i am not going mad?'

I am trying to understand ( in order to help you) why your buyers are paying an additional charge in the first place.

So I took a look at your website as directed on your bio, and it says:

'Our products are sourced from renowned dealers and companies from all over the world. We offer both single items or complete sets and collections based on special requests or custom order. Everything we offer is of top-quality, to make sure you get an excellent product at an affordable price. We don't want to just provide you with stamps, whether for your own collection or gift – we want to make you feel at ease and enjoy the purchasing experience.'

It seems that maybe they don't need to pay the additional fee.

Most don’t sell electrical goods as they have to be tested first to make sure they are safe. Most of my clothes have come off eBay and into my local Oxfam shop which have also been gift aided and they quickly sold 👍🏻

Thank you for taking the time to look at my bio and the website. You will have noticed that you cannot buy anything from that website it has no selling medium - it is just a platform to advertise me to my customers. Everything i sell can either be purchased directly from me or via eBay - this is the only sales platform i have.

Best wishes

Andrew

Not heard the word “spivs” in ages - now you’ve got me thinking of “private Walker” in Dad’s Army”.

That's about as blatant as it gets!

To be fair, so did Cobweb. This is a thread about BPF changes.

OK going back to the start - the OP seems to think that fees are more (they aren't) and you can't add multiple items of theirs to a basket (which is an issue I can't seem to replicate).

Which do not apply to business sellers so problem solved for some posters.

What is greatly unclear within the update message is this:

"From today, you’ll be able to see the updated rates on your listings, and will notice the greatest impact on items priced £10 or less. If you have any active auctions and offers, they’ll continue to include the existing rates. "

No, from 'today' I don't see updated rates on my listings, I still see the old rates.

I don't have "active auctions" or "offers". I do have Buy Now listings. They are not updated.

It seems that they probably won't update unless / until I manually re-list, or maybe I need to create new listings (sell similar), or maybe they will change if they auto re-list. I don't know, all because ebay are, as so often, using vague and ambiguous phrasing.

"vague and ambiguous" ebay to a tee!

You need a comma in this sentence since you have two independent clauses.

Look at your listing without being signed into ebay and put the item into the basket and you will see the reduced price - that works with my test listing which isn't natively showing the reduction.
