Cant send large parcel via Royal Mail?

Im currently trying to purchase a shipping label for a guitar i have just sold. I seem to be unable to send this via RM/Parcelforce. The largest package dimensions it allows for is 61cmx46cmx46cm.

The only option that will facilitate a parcel of this size is UPS via Packlink?

Should i just take the parcel to my local post office and do this manually? Ive never had this issue before, the drop down box for RM/Parcelforce wont go beyond "Medium Parcel" size?

Can't you buy a label direct from the Parcelforce website?

Im just using the postage section as i always have, when i receive an order i go to "Buy Postage Label" then i select "Get Labels In Bulk" Ive never done it any other way.

I wont have these new changes forced on me so il just stop using the platform. I refuse to use Evri as ive had many bad experiences with them.

Im very strict about using RM/Parcelforce as they have always been consistent and packages never arrive broken or overly late.

Its not as bad as it first seems SD as the buyer pays it, The question is once it is combined with the BPF will the buyers pay it, as the overall price is a bit higher, i will add they don't charge the BPF on the postage, but apparently you still get what you want, It still has very rough edges at the moment when you look at it overall. But has potential it works well on the other site V

I imagine so but Im just used to everything being contained within eBay's own pages. I need to head to the post office to drop off the two parcels I was able to buy postage for.

Il post the guitar manually and update the tracking on eBays system myself.

I would take the parcel to your local post office as you are certain of getting the right postage cost as they will weigh it too and probably measure it . I prefer to take my parcels to the P.O as I know it has then got the correct postage on it rather than being sent a label that doesn't cover the right weight or size . And with the P.O they will give you the options of postal costs ,peace of mind too .

Parcel dropped off at local P.O, buyers receipt updated manually with the tracking number I received.

Ive pulled all of my listings just now as i wont participate in this new system as it stands, il look in to other avenues to sell my belongings.

Thanks to everyone for their input, best of luck to you all.

As a matter of interest; how did you get on with the insurance side of posting a guitar?

(just thinking about the 'restrictions list' of couriers.... which is longer than War And Peace)

Ive never insured a guitar for transport and I don't think Ive purchased a guitar that was insured for transport either.

All the guitars I have sold online have had necks that bolt on to the body so I take them apart and sell them in bits, its easier to post and its almost impossible to break unless you drive over it with a car. Guitar necks are mostly made from Canadian Maple which is the same material they make baseball bats with, so they are generally hard to break. The bodies are usually solid Basswood, Mahogany, Ash, Alder etc.

I have many guitars and ive never once encountered any breakage's or issues in transit, i also import guitars directly from Japan, sometimes with very minimal packaging, and they survive the journey no problems.

Ive only ever bought one guitar that someone was willing to take apart for postage, most other people I buy from aren't tool savvy so they aren't comfortable stripping a guitar down to post it.
