The only reason I could think of as to why we now have to choose either Evri or Royal Mail or both for ALL listings is that it's an IT tech issue.
I nearly always used to use RM Tracked 48/24 on a Collection basis as I'm not a fan of Evri plus it just suited me fine as a retired seller of a house full of junk, who doesn't always have access to the car.
I was able to continue choosing this option until July 01st when I was forced into SD. At present I have both couriers listed but every parcel ends up being Evri. That's liveable with in the summer but not when the winter comes with icy roads etc. I'll have to switch to the now more expensive RM, so added to the horrendous 4%+ it's going to make sales difficult.
WHY cannot I choose to have RM for one listing and Evri for another??
Can anyone explain??

Just switch Evri off.
On your Summary page click Account then towards the bottom of the left-hand column that comes up click Postage Preferences then Edit at the end of the line that starts Simple Delivery.
e-Bay do reserve the right to over-rule your selection but it's yet to happen to me.

Also why can't I alter the price of something without now having to do a full revision??

Thanks, yes I know I can do that, but I'd like to choose which carrier I want for each individual listing.

If you want to use evri sometimes
You could maybe open another account and use one for evri one for Royal Mail ?
silly isn’t it but here we are

You can't - its simple been designed that way. Because Simple Delivery is supposed to be a 'catch all' solution (aside from excluded items) in theory, ebay would think it shouldn't matter if the items go via Evri or Royal Mail - so there's no need to offer that option.
So its not a bug or an IT issue - its just been designed that way.
No idea on hte having to do a full price revision - I noticed you couldn't update prices anymore from the Active Inventory list - annoying!

I think it's more likely to have been deliberately implemented that way so eBay can cherry pick the most profitable option for themselves on a per-order basis. If you choose to offer only one carrier eBay charges more for the label and can override your choice at will.
